The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2784
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) that once a Jewish woman presented poisoned goat meat to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) took a bite or two and then stopped eating and summoned the woman. He asked her, "Why did you do this?" She replied, "My intention was that if you are truly a Prophet, then Allah will inform you about it, and if you are not a Prophet, then through me, the people will be relieved of you." The narrator says that whenever the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) felt the effects of this poison, he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would perform cupping (Hijama). This is the reason that once when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) set out on a journey and donned the Ihram, he felt some of its effects, so the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performed cupping.

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ ایک یہودی عورت نے نبی ﷺ کی خدمت میں بکری کا گوشت زہر ملا کر پیش کیا، نبی ﷺ نے (ایک آدھ لقمہ کھایا اور اسی وقت کھانا چھوڑ دیا اور) اس عورت کو بلا بھیجا، اور اس سے پوچھا کہ ”تو نے یہ کام کیوں کیا؟“ اس نے کہا کہ میرا یہ ارادہ اس لئے بنا کہ اگر آپ واقعی نبی ہیں تو اللہ آپ کو اس پر مطلع کر دے گا اور اگر آپ نبی نہیں ہیں تو میرے ذریعے لوگوں کو آپ سے نجات مل جائے گی۔ راوی کہتے ہیں کہ نبی ﷺ کو جب بھی اس زہر کے اثرات محسوس ہوتے تو آپ ﷺ سینگی لگوا لیتے، یہی وجہ ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی ﷺ سفر پر روانہ ہوئے اور احرام باندھ لیا، تو اس کے کچھ اثرات محسوس ہوئے اس لئے نبی ﷺ نے سینگی لگوائی۔
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki ek martaba ek yahudi aurat ne Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki khidmat mein bakri ka gosht zeher mila kar pesh kiya, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne (ek adh lukma khaya aur usi waqt khana chhor diya aur) us aurat ko bula bheja, aur us se pucha ki "tu ne ye kaam kyon kiya?" us ne kaha ki mera ye irada is liye bana ki agar aap waqai nabi hain to Allah aap ko is per mutla kar dega aur agar aap nabi nahin hain to mere zariye logon ko aap se nijaat mil jayegi. Ravi kehte hain ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko jab bhi is zeher ke asrat mehsoos hote to aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) seengi lagwa lete, yahi wajah hai ki ek martaba Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) safar par rawana hue aur ehram bandh liya, to is ke kuch asrat mehsoos hue is liye Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne seengi lagwai.
حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادٌ ، عَنْ هِلَالٍ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنَّ امْرَأَةً مِنْ الْيَهُودِ أَهْدَتْ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَاةً مَسْمُومَةً، فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهَا، فَقَالَ:" مَا حَمَلَكِ عَلَى مَا صَنَعْتِ؟" قَالَتْ: أَحْبَبْتُ أَوْ أَرَدْتُ إِنْ كُنْتَ نَبِيًّا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ سَيُطْلِعُكَ عَلَيْهِ، وَإِنْ لَمْ تَكُنْ نَبِيًّا أُرِيحُ النَّاسَ مِنْكَ!. (حديث موقوف) قَالَ: وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا وَجَدَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ شَيْئًا، احْتَجَمَ. قَالَ:" فَسَافَرَ مَرَّةً، فَلَمَّا أَحْرَمَ، وَجَدَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ شَيْئًا، فَاحْتَجَمَ".
