The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 3309
Our master Ibn 'Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him and his father, narrates that when the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, departed from the plain of Arafat, the people began to race their mounts. Upon the Prophet's command, a man proclaimed, "O people! Racing camels and horses is not an act of righteousness, so impose tranquility upon yourselves." Then, when the Prophet departed from there, I did not see anyone racing swiftly with their hand raised.

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما فرماتے ہیں کہ جب نبی ﷺ میدان عرفات سے روانہ ہوئے تو لوگ اپنی سواریاں تیزی سے دوڑانے لگے، نبی ﷺ کے حکم پر ایک شخص نے یہ منادی کی کہ ”لوگو! اونٹ اور گھوڑے تیز دوڑانا کوئی نیکی کا کام نہیں ہے، اس لئے تم سکون کو اپنے اوپر لازم کر لو“، پھر نبی ﷺ وہاں سے روانہ ہوئے تو میں نے کسی سواری کو اپنے ہاتھ اٹھائے تیزی کے ساتھ دوڑتے ہوئے نہیں دیکھا۔
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas Raziallahu Anhuma farmate hain ke jab Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) maidan Arafat se rawana huye to log apni sawariyan tezise se daurane lage, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke hukm par ek shakhs ne ye munaddi ki ke "Logon! Unt aur ghore tez daurana koi neki ka kaam nahi hai, is liye tum sukoon ko apne upar laazim kar lo", phir Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) wahan se rawana huye to maine kisi sawari ko apne hath uthaye tezise ke sath daurte huye nahi dekha.
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ ، عَنْ مِقْسَمٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ: لَمَّا أَفَاضَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ عَرَفَاتٍ أَوْضَعَ النَّاسُ، فَأَمَرَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُنَادِيًا فَنَادَى:" يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ الْبِرُّ بِإِيضَاعِ الْخَيْلِ وَالرِّكَابِ" فَمَا رَأَيْتُهَا رَافِعَةً يَدَهَا عَادِيَةً.
