Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 4540
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that I saw the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) raising his hands while starting the prayer, aligning them with his shoulders. I also saw him raising his hands while bowing down for ruku and upon rising from it. However, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not raise his hands between the two prostrations (sajdahs).

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ میں نے نبی کریم ﷺ کو نماز کے آغاز میں اپنے ہاتھ کندھوں کے برابر کر کے رفع یدین کرتے ہوئے دیکھا ہے نیز رکوع میں جاتے وقت اور رکوع سے سر اٹھانے کے بعد بھی رفع یدین کرتے ہوئے دیکھا ہے لیکن دو سجدوں کے درمیان نبی کریم ﷺ نے رفع یدین نہیں کیا۔
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki maine Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko namaz ke aaghaz mein apne hath kandhon ke barabar kar ke rafay yadain karte huye dekha hai neez ruku mein jaate waqt aur ruku se sar uthane ke baad bhi rafay yadain karte huye dekha hai lekin do sajdon ke darmiyan Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne rafay yadain nahin kiya.
حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ" إِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلَاةَ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ حَتَّى يُحَاذِيَ مَنْكِبَيْهِ، وَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَرْكَعَ، وَبَعْدَ مَا يَرْفَعُ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ"، وَقَالَ سُفْيَانُ مَرَّةً: وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ، وَأَكْثَرُ مَا كَانَ يَقُولُ: وَبَعْدَ مَا يَرْفَعُ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ، وَلَا يَرْفَعُ بَيْنَ السَّجْدَتَيْنِ.
