Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 4566
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidna Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying that the seller and the buyer have the option (of cancellation) as long as they have not separated or it is a sale with the right of option.

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ کو یہ ارشاد فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے کہ بائع (بچنے والا) اور مشتری (خریدنے والا اور بیچنے والا) کو اس وقت تک اختیار رہتا ہے جب کہ وہ جدا نہ ہو جائیں یا یہ کہ وہ بیع خیار ہو۔
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko ye irshad farmate hue suna hai ki ba'i (bechne wala) aur mushtari (kharidne wala aur bechne wala) ko us waqt tak ikhtiyar rehta hai jab tak wo juda na ho jayen ya ye ki wo bay khayar ho.
حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ:" الْبَيِّعَانِ بِالْخِيَارِ مَا لَمْ يَتَفَرَّقَا، أَوْ يَكُونَ بَيْعَ خِيَارٍ".
