Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 4764
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) once held a part of my body and said, "O Abdullah! Live in this world like a traveler or a passerby and count yourself among the dead."

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے ایک مرتبہ میرے جسم کے کسی حصے کو پکڑ کر فرمایا: ”اے عبداللہ! دنیا میں اس طرح رہو جیسے کوئی مسافر یا راہ گزر ہوتا ہے اور اپنے آپ کو مردوں میں شمار کرو۔“
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne ek martaba mere jism ke kisi hisse ko pakar kar farmaya: “Aye Abdullah! Duniya mein is tarah raho jaise koi musafir ya raah guzar hota hai aur apne aap ko murdon mein shumar karo.”
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ: أَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِبَعْضِ جَسَدِي، فَقَالَ: يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ،" كُنْ فِي الدُّنْيَا كَأَنَّكَ غَرِيبٌ أَوْ عَابِرُ سَبِيلٍ، وَاعْدُدْ نَفْسَكَ فِي الْمَوْتَى".
