Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 4850
Narrated by Ibn 'Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, that when we set out with the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, towards the plain of Arafat, some of us were reciting the Takbir and some were reciting the Talbiyah, while we were reciting the Takbir. The narrator said, "It is surprising about you people that you did not ask them what the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was doing (Takbir or Talbiyah).".

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ہم لوگ نبی کریم ﷺ کے ساتھ جب میدان عرفات کی طرف روانہ ہوئے تو ہم سے بعض لوگ تکبیر کہہ رہے تھے اور بعض تلبیہ پڑھ رہے تھے، جبکہ ہم تکبیر کہہ رہے تھے، راوی نے کہا کہ تعجب ہے تم لوگوں پر کہ تم نے ان سے نہیں پوچھا کہ نبی ﷺ کیا کر رہے تھے (تکبیر یا تلبیہ)۔
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki hum log Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke sath jab maidan Arafat ki taraf rawana hue to hum se baaz log takbeer keh rahe the aur baaz talbiyah padh rahe the, jabki hum takbeer keh rahe the, ravi ne kaha ki taajjub hai tum logon par ki tumne unse nahin poocha ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) kya kar rahe the (takbeer ya talbiyah).
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ:" كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَبِيحَةَ عَرَفَةَ، مِنَّا الْمُكَبِّرُ، وَمِنَّا الْمُهِلُّ، أَمَّا نَحْنُ فَنُكَبِّرُ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: الْعَجَبُ لَكُمْ!! كَيْفَ لَمْ تَسْأَلُوهُ كَيْفَ صَنَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟!.
