Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 4915
Thabit Bunani (RA) narrates that he asked Abdullah ibn Umar (RA) about the intoxicant made from dates in an earthen pot. He replied, "It is forbidden." I asked, "Did the Prophet (PBUH) prohibit it?" He said, "Yes, people say so."

ثابت بنانی رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مٹکے کی نبیذ کے متعلق پوچھا، تو انہوں نے فرمایا: وہ حرام ہے میں نے پوچھا کیا نبی ﷺ نے اس سے منع فرمایا ہے؟ انہوں نے فرمایا: ہاں، لوگ یہی کہتے ہیں۔
Sabit banani rehmatullah alaih kehte hain ki maine syedna ibn umar razi allaho anhuma se matke ki nabiz ke mutalliq poocha, to unhon ne farmaya: wo haram hai maine poocha kya nabi sallallaho alaihi wasallam ne is se mana farmaya hai? Unhon ne farmaya: haan, log yahi kehte hain.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ ،" عَنْ نَبِيذِ الْجَرِّ؟ فَقَالَ: حَرَامٌ، فَقُلْتُ: أَنَهَى عَنْهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ: يَزْعُمُونَ ذَلِكَ!!".
