Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5090
Saeed bin Jubair (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "Once I was sitting with Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) when someone asked him about the Nabidh of clay pots. He replied that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had forbidden it. This weighed heavily on my heart, so I went to Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) and mentioned to him that someone had asked Ibn Umar about the Nabidh of clay pots and he had said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had forbidden it. Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "He has spoken the truth; the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did indeed forbid it." I asked: "What is meant by clay pots?" He replied: "Everything that is made from baked clay."

سعید بن جبیررحمہ اللہ علیہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں ایک مرتبہ سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کے پاس بیٹھا ہوا تھا، کسی نے ان سے مٹکے کی نبیذ کے متعلق پوچھا، انہوں نے فرمایا کہ نبی ﷺ نے اسے حرام قرار دیا ہے، یہ سن کر مجھ پر بڑی گرانی ہوئی، میں سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کے پاس آیا اور ان سے عرض کیا کہ کسی نے سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مٹکے کی نبیذ کے متعلق پوچھا تو انہوں نے کہا کہ نبی ﷺ نے اسے حرام قرار دیا ہے، سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے فرمایا: انہوں نے سچ کہا، نبی ﷺ نے اسے حرام قرار دیا ہے، میں نے پوچھا مٹکے سے کیا مراد ہے؟ فرمایا: ہر وہ چیز جو پکی مٹی سے بنائی جائے۔
Saeed bin Jubair rehmatullahi alaih kehte hain ke mein ek martaba Sayyiduna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ke paas baitha hua tha, kisi ne un se matke ki nabidh ke mutalliq poocha, unhon ne farmaya ke Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne use haram qarar diya hai, yeh sun kar mujh par badi girani hui, mein Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ke paas aaya aur un se arz kiya ke kisi ne Sayyiduna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se matke ki nabidh ke mutalliq poocha to unhon ne kaha ke Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne use haram qarar diya hai, Sayyiduna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ne farmaya: unhon ne sach kaha, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne use haram qarar diya hai, mein ne poocha matke se kya murad hai? Farmaya: har woh cheez jo pakki mitti se banai jaye.
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، قَالَ: كُنْتُ عِنْدَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ وَسُئِلَ عَنْ" نَبِيذِ الْجَرِّ، فَقَالَ: حَرَّمَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ"، فَشَقَّ عَلَيَّ لَمَّا سَمِعْتُهُ، فَأَتَيْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ، فَقُلْتُ: إِنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ سُئِلَ عَنْ شَيْءٍ، قَالَ: فَجَعَلْتُ أُعَظِّمُهُ! فَقَالَ: وَمَا هُوَ؟ قُلْتُ: سُئِلَ عَنْ نَبِيذِ الْجَرِّ، فَقَالَ: حَرَّمَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: صَدَقَ، حَرَّمَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قُلْتُ: وَمَا الْجَرُّ؟ قَالَ: كُلُّ شَيْءٍ صُنِعَ مِنْ مَدَرٍ.
