Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5122
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The voluntary prayers of the night and the day are two rak'ahs each."

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا: ”رات اور دن کی نفل نماز دو دو رکعتیں ہیں۔“
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya: ”Raat aur din ki nafl namaz do do rakat hain.“
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَلِيًّا الْأَزْدِيَّ يُحَدِّثُ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يُحَدِّثُ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ:" صَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى"، وَكَانَ شُعْبَةُ يَفْرَقُهُ.
