Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5166
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): “O Messenger of Allah! What clothes can we wear after assuming Ihram?” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “One cannot wear a shirt, pants, turban, or socks unless one cannot find shoes. One who cannot find shoes should cut his socks below the ankles and wear them. Similarly, one in the state of Ihram cannot wear a cap or any cloth on which Wars (a type of grass) or saffron has been applied.”

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک آدمی نے نبی ﷺ سے پوچھا: یا رسول اللہ!! ہم احرام باندھنے کے بعد کون سے کپڑے پہن سکتے ہیں؟ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”قمیض، شلوار، عمامہ اور موزے نہیں پہن سکتے الاّ یہ کہ اسے جوتے نہ ملیں، جس شخص کو جوتے نہ ملیں اسے چاہئے کہ وہ موزوں کو ٹخنوں سے نیچے کاٹ کر پہن لے، اسی طرح ٹوپی یا ایساکپڑا جس پر ورس نامی گھاس یا زعفران لگی ہوئی ہو وہ بھی محرم نہیں پہن سکتا۔“
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki aik aadmi ne Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se pucha: Ya Rasul Allah!! hum ehram bandhne ke bad kon se kapde pehen sakte hain? Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: ”Qameez, shalwar, amama aur moze nahi pehen sakte illa yeh ki use joote na milen, jis shakhs ko joote na milen use chahiye ki woh mozon ko takhnon se neeche kaat kar pehen le, isi tarah topi ya aisa kapda jis par wars nami ghaas ya zaffran lagi hui ho woh bhi muhrim nahi pehen sakta“.
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا نَادَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: مَا نَلْبَسُ مِنَ الثِّيَابِ إِذَا أَحْرَمْنَا؟ قَالَ:" لَا تَلْبَسُوا الْقُمُصَ، وَلَا الْعَمَائِمَ، وَلَا الْبَرَانِسَ، وَلَا السَّرَاوِيلَاتِ، وَلَا الْخُفَّيْنِ، إِلَّا أَحَدٌ لَا يَجِدُ نَعْلَيْنِ"، وَقَالَ يَحْيَى مَرَّةً:" إِلَّا أَنْ يَكُونَ رَجُلٌ لَيْسَ لَهُ نَعْلَانِ، فَلْيَقْطَعْهُمَا أَسْفَلَ مِنَ الْكَعْبَيْنِ، وَلَا يَلْبَسْ ثَوْبًا مَسَّهُ وَرْسٌ أَوْ زَعْفَرَانٌ".
