Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5251
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) used to wear dyed leather socks and perform ablution (wudu) while wearing them, and he would say that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to do the same.

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما رنگی ہوئی کھال کی جوتیاں پہن لیتے اور ان میں وضو کر لیتے تھے اور فرماتے تھے کہ نبی ﷺ بھی اسی طرح کرتے تھے۔

حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْعُمَرِيُّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ ، وَنَافِعٍ ، أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ كَانَ" يَلْبَسُ السِّبْتِيَّةَ وَيَتَوَضَّأُ فِيهَا، وَذَكَرَ أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَفْعَلُهُ".
