Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5293
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade taking the Holy Quran with oneself when traveling to enemy territory, because of the fear that it might fall into the hands of the enemy.

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے دشمن کے علاقے میں سفر پر جاتے وقت قرآن کریم اپنے ساتھ لے جانے سے منع فرمایا ہے کیونکہ اندیشہ ہے کہ کہیں وہ دشمن کے ہاتھ نہ لگ جائے۔
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne dushman ke ilaqe mein safar par jate waqt Quran Kareem apne sath le jane se mana farmaya hai kyunki andesha hai ki kahin woh dushman ke hath na lag jaye.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ" نَهَى أَنْ يُسَافَرَ بِالْقُرْآنِ إِلَى أَرْضِ الْعَدُوِّ، مَخَافَةَ أَنْ يَنَالَهُ الْعَدُوُّ".
