Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5643
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to fast three days every month: The first Thursday of the month, Monday of the following week, and Monday of the week after that.

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ ہر مہینے میں تین دن روزہ رکھتے تھے، مہینے کی پہلی جمعرات کو، اگلے ہفتے میں پیر کے دن اور اس سے اگلے ہفتے میں بھی پیر کے دن۔
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) har mahinay mein teen din roza rakhte thay, mahinay ki pehli juma'rat ko, agle haftay mein peer ke din aur is se agle haftay mein bhi peer ke din.
حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنِ الْحُرِّ بْنِ الصَّيَّاحِ ، سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ ، يَقُولُ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ" يَصُومُ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ: الْخَمِيسَ مِنْ أَوَّلِ الشَّهْرِ، وَالِاثْنَيْنِ الَّذِي يَلِيهِ، وَالِاثْنَيْنِ الَّذِي يَلِيهِ".
