Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5668
Mujaahid (rahimahullah) narrates that once a funeral procession passed by us, Sayyiduna Ibn 'Umar (radiyallahu 'anhuma) said, "Come, let us go with it." He then held my hand firmly. When we reached near the graveyard, we heard the sound of someone crying from behind. At that moment, Sayyiduna Ibn 'Umar (radiyallahu 'anhuma) was still holding my hand. He turned around with me, went before the woman who was crying, stood before her, and reprimanded her harshly. He said that the Prophet (sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam) prohibited anyone from following a funeral procession while crying.

مجاہد رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ ہمارے قریب سے ایک جنازہ گزرا، سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے فرمایا: آؤ، اس کے ساتھ چلیں، یہ کہہ کر انہوں نے میرا ہاتھ مضبوطی سے پکڑ لیا، جب ہم قبرستان کے قریب پہنچے تو پیچھے سے کسی کے رونے کی آواز آئی، اس وقت بھی سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے میرا ہاتھ پکڑا ہوا تھا، وہ مجھے لے کر پیچھے کی جانب گھومے اور اس رونے والی کے سامنے جا کر کھڑے ہو گئے اور اسے سخت سست کہا اور فرمایا کہ نبی ﷺ نے جنازے کے ساتھ کسی رونے والی کو جانے سے سے منع فرمایا ہے۔
Mujaahid Rahmatullah Aleh kehte hain ke ek martaba hamare qareeb se ek janaza guzra, Sayyiduna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ne farmaya: Aao, iske sath chalen, ye keh kar unhon ne mera hath mazbooti se pakad liya, jab hum qabristan ke qareeb pahunche to peeche se kisi ke rone ki aawaz aai, is waqt bhi Sayyiduna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ne mera hath pakda hua tha, woh mujhe le kar peeche ki jaanib ghume aur is rone wali ke samne ja kar khade ho gaye aur use sakht sust kaha aur farmaya ke Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne janaze ke sath kisi rone wali ko jane se mana farmaya hai.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ يَعْنِي شَيْبَانَ ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ: مَرَّتْ بِنَا جِنَازَةٌ، فَقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ: لَوْ قُمْتَ بِنَا مَعَهَا، قَالَ: فَأَخَذَ بِيَدِي، فَقَبَضَ عَلَيْهَا قَبْضًا شَدِيدًا، فَلَمَّا دَنَوْنَا مِنَ الْمَقَابِرِ سَمِعَ رَنَّةً مِنْ خَلْفِهِ، وَهُوَ قَابِضٌ عَلَى يَدِي، فَاسْتَدَار بِي فَاسْتَقْبَلَهَا، فَقَالَ لَهَا شَرًّا، وَقَالَ:" نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ تُتْبَعَ جِنَازَةٌ مَعَهَا رَنَّةٌ".
