Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5761
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) wanted to buy Barirah. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went to offer prayer. When he returned, Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) submitted: “Those people refused to sell her to me and said that if we get her Wala, then we will sell her.” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The Wala is for the one who sets free.”

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ سیدہ عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے بریرہ کو خریدنا چاہا نبی ﷺ نماز تشریف لے گئے، جب واپس آئے تو سیدہ عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے عرض کیا کہ ان لوگوں نے انہیں بیچنے سے انکار کر دیا اور کہا کہ اگر ولاء ہمیں ملے تو ہم بیچ دیں گے، نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”ولاء اسی کا حق ہے جو آزاد کرتا ہے۔“
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Sayyida Ayesha ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) ne bureira ko khareedna chaha Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) namaz tashreef le gaye, jab wapas aaye to Sayyida Ayesha ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) ne arz kiya ki in logon ne inhen bechne se inkar kar diya aur kaha ki agar walah humein mile to hum bech denge, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: "Wallah usi ka haq hai jo azad karta hai."
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، سَمِعْتُ نَافِعًا يَزْعُمُ، أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ حَدَّثَهُ: أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ سَاوَمَتْ بِبَرِيرَةَ، فَخَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ، فَلَمَّا رَجَعَ، قَالَتْ: إِنَّهُمْ أَبَوْا أَنْ يَبِيعُونِي , إِلَّا أَنْ يَشْتَرِطُوا الْوَلَاءَ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" إِنَّمَا الْوَلَاءُ لِمَنْ أَعْتَقَ".
