Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5807
Nafi', may Allah have mercy on him, said that Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, used to go to the mosque on Friday and pray a few rak'ahs in which he would stand for long periods. When the Imam would leave, he would go home and pray two rak'ahs, saying that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to do the same.

نافع رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما جمعہ کے دن مسجد جاتے اور چند رکعات نماز پڑھتے جن میں طویل قیام فرماتے جب امام واپس چلا جاتا تو اپنے گھر جا کر دو رکعتیں پڑھتے اور فرماتے کہ نبی ﷺ اسی طرح کیا کرتے تھے۔

حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ " كَانَ يَغْدُو إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ، فَيُصَلِّي رَكَعَاتٍ يُطِيلُ فِيهِنَّ الْقِيَامَ، فَإِذَا انْصَرَفَ الْإِمَامُ، رَجَعَ إِلَى بَيْتِهِ فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ"، وَقَالَ: هَكَذَا كَانَ يَفْعَلُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.
