Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 5971
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had a gold ring made. When the people saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) wearing it, they too had gold rings made. One day, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stood up and said, "I used to wear this ring." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) took it off and threw it away, and the people also threw away their rings.

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے سونے کی انگوٹھی بنوائی، نبی ﷺ کو دیکھ کر، لوگوں نے بھی سونے کی انگوٹھیاں بنوا لیں، ایک دن نبی ﷺ کھڑے ہوئے اور فرمایا کہ میں یہ انگوٹھی پہنتا تھا۔ پھر نبی ﷺ نے اسے پھینک دیا اور لوگوں نے بھی اپنی انگوٹھیاں پھینک دیں۔
Syedna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ke Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne sone ki anguthi banwai, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko dekh kar, logon ne bhi sone ki anguthiyan banwa lein, ek din Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) khade hue aur farmaya ke mein yeh anguthi pahenta tha. Phir Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne use phenk diya aur logon ne bhi apni anguthiyan phenk dein.
حَدَّثَنَا الْفَضْلُ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ , يَقُولُ: اتَّخَذَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَاتَمًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ، فَاتَّخَذَ النَّاسُ خَوَاتِيمَ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" إِنِّي اتَّخَذْتُ خَاتَمًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَنَبَذْتُهُ"، وَقَالَ:" إِنِّي لَسْتُ أَلْبَسُهُ أَبَدًا" فَنَبَذَ النَّاسُ خَوَاتِيمَهُمْ.
