Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 6051
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidina Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Bilal gives the call to prayer at night, so continue to eat and drink until Ibn Umm Maktum gives the call to prayer. The narrator says that Sayyidina Ibn Umm Maktum (may Allah be pleased with him) was a blind man, he could not see, so he would not give the call to prayer until people started saying that it is morning, please give the call to prayer.

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا: بلال رات ہی کو اذان دے دیتے ہیں اس لئے جب تک ابن ام مکتوم اذان نہ دے دیں تم کھاتے پیتے رہو راوی کہتے ہیں کہ دراصل سیدنا ابن ام مکتوم رضی اللہ عنہ نابینا آدمی تھے، دیکھ نہیں سکتے تھے اس لئے وہ اس وقت تک اذان نہیں دیتے تھے جب تک لوگ نہ کہنے لگتے کہ اذان دیجئے آپ نے تو صبح کر دی۔

حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" إِنَّ بِلَالًا يُنَادِي بِلَيْلٍ، فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى تَسْمَعُوا تَأْذِينَ ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ"، قَالَ: وَكَانَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ رَجُلًا أَعْمَى لَا يُبْصِرُ، لَا يُؤَذِّنُ حَتَّى يَقُولَ النَّاسُ أَذِّنْ قَدْ أَصْبَحْتَ.
