Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 6285
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to recite the verse of prostration outside of prayer and prostrate, and we would prostrate along with him, until some of us could not find space to place our foreheads on the ground.

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نماز کے علاوہ کیفیت میں آیت سجدہ کی تلاوت فرماتے اور سجدہ کرتے ہم بھی ان کے ساتھ سجدہ کرتے یہاں تک کہ ہم میں سے بعض لوگوں کو اپنی پیشانی زمین پر رکھنے کے لئے جگہ نہ ملتی تھی۔
Sayyidna Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) namaz ke ilawa kefiyat mein ayat sajda ki tilawat farmate aur sajda karte hum bhi un ke sath sajda karte yahan tak ki hum mein se baz logon ko apni peshani zameen par rakhne ke liye jagah na milti thi.
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ , أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" كَانَ يُصَلِّي يَعْنِي يَقْرَأُ، السَّجْدَةَ فِي غَيْرِ صَلَاةٍ، فَيَسْجُدُ وَنَسْجُدُ مَعَهُ، حَتَّى رُبَّمَا لَمْ يَجِدْ أَحَدُنَا مَكَانًا يَسْجُدُ فِيهِ".
