Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 6352
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he prayed two rak'ahs of Isha prayer with the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in Mina. He also prayed two rak'ahs with Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). He also prayed two rak'ahs with Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) in the early days of his caliphate. Later, Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) started praying it in full (four rak'ahs).

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ کے ساتھ منٰی میں عشاء کی دو رکعتیں پڑھی ہیں سیدنا ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ اور سیدنا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ کے ساتھ بھی دو رکعتیں پڑھی ہیں اور سیدنا عثمان رضی اللہ عنہ کے ابتدائی ایام خلافت میں بھی ان کے ساتھ دو رکعتیں پڑھی ہیں بعد میں سیدنا عثمان رضی اللہ عنہ اسے مکمل کر نے لگے تھے۔

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ: صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ بِمِنًى، وَمَعَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، وَمَعَ عُمَرَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، وَمَعَ عُثْمَانَ صَدْرًا مِنْ خِلَافَتِهِ، ثُمَّ صَلَّاهَا أَرْبَعًا.
