Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 6359
Nafi', may Allah have mercy on him, said: "Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, would sometimes be fasting, and they would bring him his Iftar (meal to break the fast). The food would be presented to him while the Adhan (call to prayer) of Maghrib (sunset) would be ongoing, the prayer would have commenced, and its sound would be reaching him, yet he would not leave his food nor rush before finishing it. Then, he would come out and pray, and he would say: 'The Prophet of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'When the evening meal is presented to you, then do not hasten to it."

نافع رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما بعض اوقات روزے سے ہوتے وہ انہیں افطاری کا کھانا لانے کے لئے بھیجتے ان کے سامنے کھانا اس وقت پیش کیا جاتا جب مغرب کی اذان ہوچکی ہوتی نماز کھڑی ہوجاتی اور ان کے کانوں میں آواز بھی جاری ہوتی لیکن وہ اپنا کھانا ترک نہ کرتے اور فراغت سے قبل جلدی نہ کرتے پھر باہر آ کر نماز پڑھ لیتے اور فرماتے کہ اللہ کے نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”ہے جب رات کا کھانا تمہارے سامنے پیش کر دیا جائے تو اس سے اعراض کر کے جلدی نہ کرو۔
Nafay rehmatullah alaih kehte hain ke sayyidna Ibn Umar razi Allah anhuma baaz auqat rozey se hote woh unhen iftari ka khana laane ke liye bhejte un ke samne khana us waqt pesh kiya jata jab maghrib ki azan ho chuki hoti namaz khari ho jati aur un ke kano mein aawaz bhi jari hoti lekin woh apna khana tark na karte aur faraghat se pehle jaldi na karte phir bahar aa kar namaz parh lete aur farmate ke Allah ke nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya jab raat ka khana tumhare samne pesh kiya jaye to us se airaz kar ke jaldi na karo.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ , أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ , كَانَ أَحْيَانًا يَبْعَثُهُ وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ، فَيُقَدَّمُ لَهُ عَشَاؤُهُ، وَقَدْ نُودِيَ صَلَاةُ الْمَغْرِبِ، ثُمَّ تُقَامُ وَهُوَ يَسْمَعُ، فَلَا يَتْرُكُ عَشَاءَهُ، وَلَا يَعْجَلُ حَتَّى يَقْضِيَ عَشَاءَهُ، ثُمَّ يَخْرُجُ فَيُصَلِّي، قَالَ: وَقَدْ كَانَ يَقُولُ: قَالَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" لَا تَعْجَلُوا عَنْ عَشَائِكُمْ إِذَا قُدِّمَ إِلَيْكُمْ".
