Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 6412
Narrated by Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had a gold ring made and he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to keep its stone towards his palm. People also made rings, upon which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) threw it from the pulpit and said: “I used to wear this ring and keep its stone inwards, by Allah I will never wear it.” So the people also threw away their rings.

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے سونے کی انگوٹھی بنوائی اس کا نگینہ آپ ﷺ ہتھیلی کی طرف کر لیتے تھے، لوگوں نے بھی انگوٹھیاں بنوا لیں جس پر نبی کریم ﷺ نے برسر منبر اسے پھینک دیا اور فرمایا: ”میں یہ انگوٹھی پہنتا تھا اور اس کا نگینہ اندر کی طرف کر لیتا تھا واللہ اب میں اسے کبھی نہیں پہنوں گا چنانچہ لوگوں نے بھی اپنی انگوٹھیاں پھینک دیں۔
Sayedna Ibn Umar RA se marvi hai keh aik martaba Nabi Kareem SAW ne sone ki angoothi banwai iska nageena aap SAW hatheli ki taraf kar lete thay, logon ne bhi angoothian banwa lien jis per Nabi Kareem SAW ne barsar mimbar ise phenk diya aur farmaya: "Main yeh angoothi pehenta tha aur iska nageena andar ki taraf kar leta tha Wallahi ab main ise kabhi nahin pehnon ga chunancha logon ne bhi apni angoothian phenk din.
حَدَّثَنَا صَفْوَانُ بْنُ عِيسَى ، أَخْبَرَنَا أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , اتَّخَذَ خَاتَمًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ، فَجَعَلَهُ فِي يَمِينِهِ، وَجَعَلَ فَصَّهُ مِمَّا يَلِي بَاطِنَ كَفِّهِ، فَاتَّخَذَ النَّاسُ خَوَاتِيمَ الذَّهَبِ، قَالَ: فَصَعِدَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمِنْبَرَ فَأَلْقَاهُ ," وَنَهَى عَنِ التَّخَتُّمِ بِالذَّهَبِ".
