Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 805
Narrated Abu Huraira (RA): Thamama bin Athal, a polytheist, was captured and brought to the Prophet (ﷺ). The Prophet (ﷺ) went to him and said, “O Thamama! What have you got (to say)?" He said, “If you kill me, you will kill one who has blood (to be avenged), and if you show favor, you will show it to one who is grateful and if you want ransom, we will give you whatever you demand." The Prophet (ﷺ) then left him. The next day the Prophet (ﷺ) again went to him and said the same as the day before. Thamama gave the same reply, and the Prophet (ﷺ) left. On the third day the Prophet (ﷺ) visited him and on getting the same reply, he (ﷺ) ordered that he be released. Thamama went to a garden belonging to Banu Ghifar at Medina and took a bath. Then, he came to the Prophet (ﷺ), embraced Islam and said, "O Muhammad! By Allah, there was no face on the surface of the earth more hateful to me than yours, but now yours is the dearest face to me. By Allah, there was no religion more hateful to me than yours, but now it is the dearest religion to me." The Prophet (ﷺ) was pleased and praised Allah. The Prophet (ﷺ) then said, “O Thamama! Islam wipes out whatever (evil) precedes it."

(٨٠٥) سیدنا ابوہریرہ (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ ثمامہ حنفی قید کیا گیا ، نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اس کے پاس جاتے تو فرماتے : اے ثمامہ ! تیرے پاس کیا ہے ؟ “ وہ کہتا : اگر آپ قتل کریں گے تو خون والے (یعنی اس کے قبیلے والے) قتل کریں گے اور آپ احسان کریں گے تو شکر گزارپر احسان کریں گے اور اگر آپ مال کا ارادہ رکھتے ہیں تو جو چاہیں گے وہی ہم دیں گے اور صحابہ کرام فدیہ کو پسند کرتے تھے اور کہتے تھے : ہم اس کو قتل کر کے کیا کریں گے۔ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ایک دن اس کے پاس سے گزرے تو وہ مسلمان ہوگیا۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اس کو کھول دیا اور ابوطلحہ کے باغ کی طرف بھیجا اور اس کو حکم دیا کہ غسل کرے ۔ اس نے غسل کیا اور دو رکعت نماز ادا کی۔ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ” تمہارے بھائی کا اسلام بہترین ہے۔ “
(805) Saidina Abu Huraira (RA) se riwayat hai ki Sumamah Hanfi qaid kiya gaya, Nabi (SAW) uske paas jate to farmate: Aye Sumamah! Tere paas kya hai? Woh kehta: Agar aap qatl karenge to khoon wale (yani uske qabile wale) qatl karenge aur aap ehsan karenge to shukr guzar per ehsan karenge aur agar aap maal ka irada rakhte hain to jo chahenge wohi hum denge aur Sahaba kiram fidya ko pasand karte the aur kehte the: Hum usko qatl kar ke kya karenge. Nabi (SAW) ek din uske paas se guzre to woh Musalman hogaya. Aap (SAW) ne usko khol diya aur Abu Talha ke bagh ki taraf bheja aur usko hukm diya ke ghusl kare. Usne ghusl kiya aur do rakat namaz ada ki. Nabi (SAW) ne farmaya: Tumhare bhai ka Islam behtarin hai.
(806) Sa'eed bin Abu Sa'eed Maqburi reported from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent an army to Najd and they brought a man from Banu Hanifa, who was Thumamah bin Uthal, the chieftain of Yamamah. The Companions tied him to a pillar of the mosque... In this hadith, it is stated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Leave Thumamah." So he went to a date palm tree near the mosque and took a bath. Then he entered the mosque and said: "I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship but Allah, and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah," and the rest of the hadith was mentioned.
(b) In Sahih al-Bukhari, it is stated that the bath was before the testimony of faith. And it is also probable that he accepted Islam at the hands of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), then took a bath, entered the mosque and testified to his faith. This explanation reconciles both narrations.

(٨٠٦) سعید بن ابوسعید مقبری نے سیدنا ابوہریرہ (رض) سے سنا کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے نجد کی طرف ایک لشکر بھیجا تو وہ بنو حنیفہ قبیلے سے ایک شخص کو لے آئے جو ثمامہ بن اثال یمامہ کا سردار تھا ۔ صحابہ نے انھیں مسجد کے ایک ستون کے ساتھ باندھ دیا۔۔۔ اس حدیث میں ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ” ثمامہ کو چھوڑ دو تو وہ مسجد کے قریب کھجور کے درخت کی طرف گیا، اس نے غسل کیا پھر مسجد میں داخل ہوا اور کہا : أَشْہَدُ أَنْ لاَّ إِلَہَ إِلاَّ اللَّہُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّہِ اور باقی حدیث ذکر کی۔
(ب) صحیح بخاری میں ہے کہ غسل شہادت سے پہلے ہے اور یہ بھی احتمال ہے کہ اس نے نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے پاس اسلام قبول کیا، پھر غسل کیا اور مسجد میں داخل ہوا اور شہادت کا اقرار کیا ۔ یہ بات دونوں روایات میں تطبیق ہے۔
(806) Saeed bin Abusaid Maqbri ne Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (RA) se suna ke Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne Najd ki taraf ek lashkar bheja to woh Banu Hanifa qabeele se ek shakhs ko le aaye jo Sumamah bin Usal Yamama ka sardar tha. Sahaba ne unhen masjid ke ek sutun ke sath bandh diya... Is hadees mein hai ke Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: "Sumamah ko chhod do to woh masjid ke qareeb khajoor ke darakht ki taraf gaya, usne ghusl kiya phir masjid mein dakhil hua aur kaha: Ash-hadu an la ilaha illal lahu wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan rasulullah aur baqi hadees zikar ki.
(b) Sahih Bukhari mein hai ke ghusl shahadat se pehle hai aur yeh bhi ehtemaal hai ke usne Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke paas Islam qubool kiya, phir ghusl kiya aur masjid mein dakhil hua aur shahadat ka iqrar kiya. Yeh baat dono riwayat mein tatbiq hai.
Qais bin Asim came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and embraced Islam. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) commanded him to perform Ghusl (ritual bath) using water and the leaves of the lote tree.

(٨٠٧) قیس بن عاصم نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے پاس آیا اور مسلمان ہوگیا تو نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اس کو پانی اور بیری کے پتوں کے ساتھ غسل کرنے کا حکم دیا۔
807 Qais bin Asim Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke pass aaya aur musalman ho gaya to Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne us ko pani aur beri ke patton ke sath ghusl karne ka hukum diya.
Qais bin Asim came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and intended to convert to Islam. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ordered him to take a bath with water and berry leaves. (B) A similar narration has been narrated by Muhammad bin Kasheer and a group of narrators. Most of them narrate it from his grandfather Qais bin Asim.

(٨٠٨) قیس بن عاصم نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے پاس آیا اور مسلمان ہونے کا ارادہ رکھتا تھا تو نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اس کو پانی اور بیری کے پتوں سے غسل کرنے کا حکم دیا۔ (ب) اس کے ہم معنی روایت محمد بن کثیر اور ایک جماعت نے بیان کی ہے۔ ان میں سے اکثر بیان کرتے ہیں کہ اس کے دادا قیس بن عاصم سے روایت ہے۔

(809) Qais bin Asim came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and embraced Islam. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ordered him to take a bath with water and berry leaves.

(٨٠٩) قیس بن عاصم نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے پاس آیا اور مسلمان ہوگیا تو نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اس کو پانی اور بیری کے پتوں کے ساتھ غسل کرنے کا حکم دیا۔
809 Qais bin Asim Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke paas aaya aur musalman hogaya to Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne usko pani aur beri ke patton ke saath ghusl karne ka hukum diya.
Uthaym ibn Kulaib narrated from his father from his grandfather that he went to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: “I have become Muslim.” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to him: “Shave off the hair of disbelief from yourself.” He meant that he should shave his head. The narrator said: It was narrated to me by another narrator that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to another man who was with him: “Shave off the hair of disbelief from yourself and get circumcised.”

(٨١١) عثیم بن کلیب اپنے والد سے دادا کے واسطے سے بیان کرتے ہیں کہ وہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے پاس آئے اور کہا : میں مسلمان ہوگیا ہوں۔ اسے نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : اپنے آپ سے کفر کے بال پھینک دے۔ آپ کی مراد تھی کہ بال منڈوا دے۔ راوی کہتا ہے کہ ایک دوسرے راوی نے مجھے خبر دی کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے دوسرے سے فرمایا جو اس کے ساتھ تھا : اپنے آپ سے کفر کے بال پھینک دے اور ختنہ کروا۔
811 Usaym bin Kalib apne walid se dada ke waste se bayan karte hain ki woh Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke pass aaye aur kaha: Main musalman ho gaya hoon. Use Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Apne aap se kufr ke baal phenk de. Aap ki murad thi ki baal mundwa de. Rawi kahta hai ki ek dusre rawi ne mujhe khabar di ki Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne dusre se farmaya jo uske sath tha: Apne aap se kufr ke baal phenk de aur khatna karwa.
