Chapter on the Khuffs That the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) Wiped Over
باب الخف الذي مسح عليه رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم
Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 1345
(1345) (a) Sayyidina Abdullah bin Buraidah narrates from his father that Najashi gifted two plain black socks to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) wore them and performed Masah (wiping) over them.
(b) In the narration of Ubaidullah, it is stated that Najashi gifted two black socks to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performed ablution and performed Masah over them.

(١٣٤٥) (الف) سیدنا عبداللہ بن بریدہ اپنیوالد سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ نجاشی نے نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو دو سادہ سیاہ موزے ہدیہ دیے، آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے انھیں پہنا اور ان پر مسح کیا۔
(ب) عبید اللہ کی حدیث میں ہے نجاشی نے نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو دو سیاہ موزے ہدیہ دئیے آپ نے وضو کیا اور ان پر مسح کیا۔
1345 A Syedna Abdullah bin Buraidah apne walid se naql farmate hain ke Najashi ne Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko do sada siyah moze hediye diye, Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne unhen pehna aur un par masah kiya. B Ubaidullah ki hadees mein hai Najashi ne Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko do siyah moze hediye diye Aap ne wuzu kiya aur un par masah kiya.
**(1346) Narrated Mugeerah bin Shubah (RA): The Prophet (ﷺ) performed ablution and wiped over his socks. A person who was with Mugheerha bin Shubah (RA) said: “O Mugheerha bin Shubah! Where did the Prophet’s (ﷺ) socks come from?” Mugheerha (RA) replied: “Negus had gifted them to him (ﷺ).” (b) Shu’bi said that ‘Urwa bin Mugheerha narrated this Hadith of wiping over socks from his father, and this Hadith supports the Hadith narrated by Daalaam bin Saalih.**

(١٣٤٦) سیدنا مغیرہ بن شعبہ (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے وضو کیا اور موزوں پر مسح کیا، سیدنا مغیرہ بن شعبہ (رض) کے پاس ایک شخص تھا اس نے کہا : اے مغیرہ بن شعبہ ! نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے موزے کہاں سے آئے تھے ؟ مغیرہ (رض) نے کہا : نجاشی نے آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو ہدیہ دئیے تھے۔ (ب) شیخ کہتے ہیں کہ شعبی نے مسح والی حدیث کو عروہ بن مغیرہ سے اور انھوں نے اپنے والد سے روایت کیا ہے، یہ حدیث دلہم بن صالح کی حدیث کے لیے شاہد ہے۔
(1346) Sayyidina Mughirah bin Shubah (RA) se riwayat hai ki Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne wuzu kiya aur mozon par masah kiya, Sayyidina Mughirah bin Shubah (RA) ke paas ek shakhs tha usne kaha : Aye Mughirah bin Shubah! Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke moze kahan se aaye the? Mughirah (RA) ne kaha : Najashi ne Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko hadiya diye the. (b) Sheikh kahte hain ki Shuabi ne masah wali hadees ko Urwah bin Mughirah se aur unhon ne apne walid se riwayat kiya hai, yeh hadees Dilam bin Saleh ki hadees ke liye shahid hai.
(1347) 'Abd Ar-Razzaq said: I asked Ma'mar about socks that have holes in them, and he said: "When something comes out of the place of Wudhu, do not wipe over it, but rather take them off." He said, 'Abd Ar-Razzaq told us, saying: "I heard from Thawri, who said: 'Wipe over them as long as they are still clinging to the foot, even if they have holes in them.' Then he said, 'The socks of the Muhajirin and the Ansar used to have holes in them.'"

(١٣٤٧) عبد الرزاق کہتے ہیں : میں نے معمر سے پھٹ جانے والے موزے کے متعلق سوال کیا تو انھوں نے کہا : جب وضو کی جگہ سے کوئی چیز نکل آئے اس پر مسح نہ کرو بلکہ انھیں اتار دو ۔
انھوں نے کہا عبد الرزاق نے ہم کو بیان کیا کہتے ہیں میں نے ثوری سے سنا وہ کہتے تھے ان پر مسح کر جب تک قدم کے ساتھ چمٹے رہے، اگرچہ پھٹ بھی جائیں پھر انھوں نے کہا اسی طرح مہاجرین اور انصار کے موزے پھٹے ہوئے ہوتے تھے۔
(1347) Abdul Razaq kehte hain : main ne Muammar se phat jane wale moze ke mutalliq sawal kiya to unhon ne kaha : jab wazu ki jagah se koi cheez nikal aaye us par masah na karo balkeh unhen utar do.
unhon ne kaha Abdul Razaq ne hum ko bayan kiya kehte hain main ne Thawri se suna woh kehte the un par masah kar jab tak qadam ke sath chamte rahe, agarche phat bhi jayen phir unhon ne kaha isi tarah muhajireen aur ansar ke moze phatte hue hote the.
(1348) Salim's father reports on the authority of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) regarding the Muhrim, that he should not wear socks unless he is a person who cannot find shoes. So he should cut them so that they come down to below the ankles. (b) Faqih Abu Al-Walid says that this hadith indicates that when the sock does not cover the entire foot, then it is not considered a sock on which wiping during ablution is permissible.

(١٣٤٨) سالم کے والد محترم نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے ُ محرِم کے متعلق بیان فرماتے ہیں کہ وہ موزے نہ پہننے مگر وہ شخص پہن سکتا ہے جو جوتے نہیں پاتا۔ لہٰذا ان کو کاٹ لے تاکہ ایڑھیوں کے نیچے تک ہوجائیں۔ (ب) فقیہ ابو ولد کہتے ہیں کہ اس حدیث میں اس بات پر دلالت ہے کہ جب موزہ پورے پاؤں کو نہ ڈھانپے تو وہ موزے کے حکم میں نہیں ہے جس پر مسح جائز ہوتا ہے۔
1348 Salem ke walid mohtaram Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) se muhrim ke mutalliq bayan farmate hain ki woh moze na pehenne magar woh shakhs pehen sakta hai jo joote nahi pata. Lihaza in ko kaat le taake erion ke neeche tak hojain. b Fiqh Abu Wald kehte hain ki is hadees mein is baat par dalalat hai ki jab moza poore paon ko na dhaampe to woh moze ke hukum mein nahi hai jis par masah jaiz hota hai.
