Akarmah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Use antimony (kohl) for it sharpens the eyesight and makes the hair sprout (on the eyelids). They (the narrators) said: We think that we were with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while he had an antimony case from which he would apply antimony in each eye three times every night.

(٨٢٥٧) عکرمہ بن عباس (رض) سے بیان کرتے ہیں کہ نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : اپنے لیے اثمد (سرمہ) لازم کرو۔ بیشک وہ بصارت کو تیز کرتا ہے اور سر پر بال اگاتا ہے۔ ان کا خیال ہے کہ ہم رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے پاس سرمہ دان تھے جس سے آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ہر رات سرمہ لگاتے تھے ایک آنکھ میں تین تین۔
8257 Akrama bin Abbas (RA) se bayan karte hain ki Nabi Kareem (SAW) ne farmaya: Apne liye ismid (surma) lazim karo. Beshak woh basarat ko tez karta hai aur sar par baal ugata hai. Unka khayal hai ki hum Rasulullah (SAW) ke pass surma daan tha jisse aap (SAW) har raat surma lagate thay ek aankh mein teen teen.
Ubaidullah bin Abi Rafi' from his father and he from his grandfather that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to apply antimony (as kohl) while fasting.

(٨٢٥٨) عبیداللہ بن ابی رافع اپنے باپ سے اور وہ اپنے دادا سے بیان کرتے ہیں کہ نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اثمد سرمہ لگایا کرتے تھے اور آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) روزے سے ہوتے۔
8258 Ubaidullah bin Abi Rafi apne baap se aur wo apne dada se bayan karte hain ke Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ismid surma lagaya karte the aur aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) roze se hote.
Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to apply kohl to his eyes while he was fasting.

(٨٢٥٩) سیدہ عائشہ (رض) بیان کرتی ہیں کہ بسا اوقات نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سرمہ لگاتے اور آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) روزے کی حالت میں ہوتے۔
(8259) Syeda Ayesha (RA) bayan karti hain keh basa auqat Nabi Kareem ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) surma lagaatay aur aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) rozey ki halat mein hotay.
Abu Nu'man Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that my father narrated to me from my grandfather, and his grandfather used to visit the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and he brought him to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), so he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) wiped his head and said: “Do not apply kohl during the day, and you are fasting, but apply antimony kohl at night, for it sharpens the eyesight and makes the hair grow.”

(٨٢٦٠) ابو نعمان انصاری (رض) بیان کرتے ہیں کہ میرے باپ نے میرے دادا سے یہ بات بیان کی اور ان کے دادا نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے پاس آیا کرتے تھے اور وہ اسے نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے پاس لائے تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ان کے سرپر ہاتھ پھیرا اور فرمایا دن میں سرمہ نہ لگاؤ اور تم روزے سے ہو اور رات کو اثمد سرمہ لگاؤ کہ وہ بصارت کو تیز کرتا ہے اور بالوں کو لگاتا ہے۔
(8260) Abu Noman Ansari (RA) bayan karte hain ke mere baap ne mere dada se yeh baat bayan ki aur un ke dada Nabi Kareem ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke pass aaya karte the aur wo use Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke pass laaye to aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne un ke sar par hath phera aur farmaya din mein surma na lagao aur tum rozedar ho aur raat ko ismid surma lagao ke wo basarat ko tez karta hai aur baalon ko lagata hai.
