Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to observe Itikaf in the last ten days of Ramadan. Nafi' said: Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) showed me the place in the mosque where the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to observe Itikaf.

(٨٥٦٩) عبداللہ بن عمر (رض) بیان کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) رمضان کے آخری عشرے میں اعتکاف کیا کرتے تھے۔ نافع کہتے ہیں : مجھے عبداللہ بن عمر (رض) نے وہ جگہ دکھائی جہاں مسجد میں آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اعتکاف کرتے تھے۔
(8569) Abdullah bin Umar (RA) bayan karte hain ke Rasool Allah (SAW) Ramzan ke aakhri ashray mein itikaf kiya karte thay. Nafi kehte hain : mujhe Abdullah bin Umar (RA) ne woh jaga dikhayi jahan masjid mein aap (SAW) itikaf karte thay.
(8570) Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would observe Itikaf (seclusion in the mosque), he would bring his blessed head close to me and I would comb his hair. But he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would not enter the house except for a human need. Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) also narrated that he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would bring his head to me while he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was in the mosque, and I would comb his hair.
(In the narration of Ibn Wahb it is stated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would not enter the house except for a human need. Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would bring his head inside to me while he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was in the mosque, and I would comb his hair).

(٨٥٧٠) سیدہ عائشہ (رض) بیان کرتی ہیں کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اعتکاف کرتے تو اپنا سر مبارک میرے قریب کرتے۔ میں اس میں کنگھی کردیتی مگر آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سوائے حاجت انسانی کے گھر میں داخل نہ ہوتے۔ سیدہ عائشہ (رض) یہ بھی بیان کرتی ہیں کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) میری طرف اپنا سر کرتے مگر آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) مسجد ہی میں ہوتے اور میں کنگھی کرتی۔
(ابن وھب کی روایت میں ہے کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) گھر میں داخل نہیں ہوتے تھے سوائے حاجت انسانی کے ، سیدہ عائشہ (رض) بیان کرتی ہیں کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اپنا سرمیری طرف داخل کرتے مگر آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) مسجد میں ہی ہوتے اور میں آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے کنگھی کرتی۔ )
(8570) Sayyida Ayesha (Razi Allahu Anha) bayan karti hain ke Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) aitkaf karte to apna sar mubarak mere qareeb karte. Main is mein kanghi kar deti magar Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) siwaye hajat insani ke ghar mein dakhil na hote. Sayyida Ayesha (Razi Allahu Anha) yeh bhi bayan karti hain ke Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) meri taraf apna sar karte magar Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) masjid hi mein hote aur main kanghi karti.
(Ibn Wahab ki riwayat mein hai ke Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ghar mein dakhil nahin hote thay siwaye hajat insani ke, Sayyida Ayesha (Razi Allahu Anha) bayan karti hain ke Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) apna sar meri taraf dakhil karte magar Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) masjid mein hi hote aur main Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke kanghi karti.)
(8571) The wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to observe Itikaf in the last ten days of Ramadan until Allah took him (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Then, after him (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), his wives continued to observe Itikaf.
The Sunnah way of Itikaf is that the one observing Itikaf should not leave except for a need that cannot be avoided, should not nurse the sick, should not go near a woman, and should not engage in intimacy. And Itikaf is not valid except in a congregational mosque. And it is Sunnah in Itikaf to fast as well.

(٨٥٧١) زوج النبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سیدہ عائشہ (رض) بیان کرتی ہیں کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) رمضان کے آخری عشرے میں اعتکاف کیا کرتے حتیٰ کہ اللہ نے آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو فوت کرلیا ۔ پھر آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے بعد آپ کی ازواج اعتکاف کیا کرتی رہیں۔
اعتکاف میں سنت طریقہ یہ ہے کہ معتکف نہ نکلے مگر ایسی حاجت کے لیے جس کے بغیر چارہ نہ ہو۔ نہ وہ تیمارداری کرے اور نہ ہی عورت کے قریب جائے اور نہ ہی مباشرت کرے اور جامع مسجد کے علاوہ اعتکاف نہیں ہے اور سنت اعتکاف میں یہ ہے کہ روزے بھی رکھے۔
(8571) Zawj un Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) Sayyida Ayesha (Razi Allahu Anha) bayan karti hain ke aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) Ramzan ke aakhri ashray mein itikaf kiya karte hatta ke Allah ne aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko faut kar liya. Phir aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke baad aap ki azwaj itikaf kiya karti rahin.
Etikaf mein sunnat tareeqa ye hai ke mutakif na nikle magar aisi hajat ke liye jis ke baghair chara na ho. Na wo timardari kare aur na hi aurat ke qareeb jaye aur na hi mubashrat kare aur jame masjid ke ilawa itikaf nahi hai aur sunnat itikaf mein ye hai ke rozy bhi rakhy.
Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: Ibn `Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) and Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) both said: "I`tikaf is not valid except in a mosque where congregational prayers are held."

(٨٥٧٢) قتادہ (رض) بیان کرتے ہیں کہ ابن عباس (رض) اور حسن (رض) دونوں کہتے ہیں : اعتکاف نہیں ہوتا مگر اس مسجد میں جس میں جماعت کا اہتمام ہو۔
8572 qatadah (rz) bayan karte hain ke ibn abbas (rz) aur hasan (rz) donon kahte hain : aitkaf nahin hota magar us masjid mein jis mein jamaat ka ehtimaam ho
Ali radi Allahu anhu reported: Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "The most detestable of matters with Allah are those that are newly invented, and one such innovation is observing I'tikaf in a neighborhood mosque." (8573)

(٨٥٧٣) علی زدی ابن عباس (رض) سے بیان کرتے ہیں کہ اللہ کے نزدیک سب سے مبغوض کام نیا کام ہے اور اس نئے کام سے یہ بھی ہے کہ محلے کی مسجد میں اعتکاف کرنا۔
(8573) Ali Zadi ibn Abbas (RA) se bayan karte hain ke Allah ke nazdeek sab se maghuz kaam naya kaam hai aur is naye kaam se ye bhi hai ke mohalle ki masjid mein itikaaf karna.
Huzaifa said to Abdullah bin Mas'ud, while he was standing between the house of Abu Musa and his own house, "Do you know that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, 'There is no I'tikaf in Masjid al-Haram,' or did you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say, 'Not in the three mosques?'" Abdullah said, "Perhaps you have forgotten and they have remembered. You have broken your fast and I am in doubt."

(٨٥٧٤) حذیفہ نے عبداللہ بن مسعود (رض) سے کہا، وہ ابو موسیٰ اور اپنے گھر کے درمیان کھڑے تھے : تو جانتا ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا کہ مسجد الحرام میں اعتکاف نہیں یا آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : تین مساجد میں نہیں تو عبداللہ نے کہا : شاید آپ بھو ل گئے ہیں اور انھوں نے یاد رکھا ہو۔ آپ نے افطار کی ہو اور میری طرف سے شک میں ہوں۔
8574 Huzaifa ne Abdullah bin Masood (rz) se kaha, woh Abu Musa aur apne ghar ke darmiyan kharay thay : Tu janta hai ki Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya ki Masjid al-Haram mein itikaf nahin ya aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya : Teen masajid mein nahin to Abdullah ne kaha : Shayad aap bhool gaye hain aur unhon ne yaad rakha ho. Aap ne iftar ki ho aur meri taraf se shak mein hon.
