Chapter on the Evidence Permitting That for Any Type of Mount Whether a Camel or Donkey
باب الدليل على إباحة ذلك على أي مركوب كان ناقة أو حمارا
Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 2205
Narrated by Abdullah bin Umar (RA), that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to offer his voluntary prayers facing the direction in which his she-camel's face was pointed.

(٢٢٠٥) حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اپنی نفل نماز اسی جہت کی طرف ادا فرما لیتے جدھر آپ کی اونٹنی کا منہ ہوتا۔
(2205) Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (RA) se riwayat hai keh Rasool Allah (SAW) apni nafl namaz usi jahat ki taraf ada farma lete jidhar aap ki oonthni ka munh hota.
Narrated Ibn `Umar: I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) offering prayer while riding a donkey, and its face was towards Khaibar.

(٢٢٠٦) سیدنا ابن عمر (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو دیکھا : آپ دراز گوش (گدھے) پر بیٹھے نماز ادا فرما رہے تھے اور اس کا منہ خیبر کی طرف تھا۔
(2206) Syedna Ibn Umar (RA) se riwayat hai keh maine Rasulullah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko dekha: Aap daraz gosh (gadhe) per baithe namaz ada farma rahe the aur iska munh khyber ki taraf tha.
(2207) (a) It is narrated on the authority of Anas b. Sirin that when Anas b. Malik (Allah be pleased with him) came from Syria, we went out to meet him. I met him at 'Ayn at-Tamr. He (Allah be pleased with him) was offering prayer while sitting on his donkey and his face was towards the left of the Qibla. I said to him: I see you offering prayer with your face turned away from the Qibla! He replied: Had I not seen the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) doing so, I would never have done it.
(b) And in the narration of 'Ufan it is stated: His face was towards that very side. We indicated by signs that (it was) the left side of the Qibla. It is stated at the end of the tradition that now I, too, do not act upon it.

(٢٢٠٧) (ا) انس بن سیرین سے روایت ہے کہ جب انس بن مالک (رض) شام سے آئے تو ہم آپ سے ملنے گئے۔ میری ان سے ” عین التمر “ کے مقام پر ملاقات ہوئی۔ آپ (رض) گدھے پر بیٹھے نماز ادا کر رہے ہیں اور آپ کا چہرہ قبلہ کی بائیں جانب تھا، میں نے ان سے عرض کیا : میں آپ کو غیر قبلہ کی طرف منہ کیے ہوئے نماز پڑھتے دیکھ رہا ہوں ! انھوں نے فرمایا : اگر میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو اس طرح کرتے نہ دیکھا ہوتا تو میں اس طرح کبھی نہ کرتا۔
(ب) اور عفان کی حدیث میں ہے کہ ان کا چہرہ اسی جانب تھا، ہمام نے اشارے سے بتایا کہ قبلہ کی بائیں جانب اس روایت کے آخر میں ہے کہ پھر میں بھی اس طرح نہ کرتا۔
(2207) (a) Anas bin سیرین se riwayat hai ki jab Anas bin Malik (rz) Sham se aye to hum aap se milne gaye. Meri in se "Ain ut-tamr" ke maqam par mulaqat hui. Aap (rz) gadhe par baithe namaz ada kar rahe hain aur aap ka chehra qibla ki bayen janib tha, maine in se arz kiya : main aap ko ghair qibla ki taraf munh kiye hue namaz parhte dekh raha hun ! unhon ne farmaya : agar maine Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko is tarah karte na dekha hota to main is tarah kabhi na karta.
(b) Aur Ufan ki hadees mein hai ki un ka chehra isi janib tha, hum ne ishare se bataya ki qibla ki bayen janib is riwayat ke akhir mein hai ki phir main bhi is tarah na karta.
