Chapter on the Time Interval Between Adhan and Iqamah
باب كم بين الأذان والإقامة
Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 2280
Narrated `Abdullah bin Mughaffal al-Muzani (RA): The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Between every two Adhans (calls to prayer), there is a prayer." He said it three times, "(Between every two Adhans there is a prayer), for anyone who wishes to offer it."

(٢٢٨٠) حضرت عبداللہ بن مغفل مزنی (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ہر دو اذانوں کے درمیان نماز ہے۔ یہ کلمات تین بار کہے، جو پڑھنا چاہے ۔
2280 Hazrat Abdullah bin Mughaffal Mazni (RA) se riwayat hai ki Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Har do azanon ke darmiyaan namaz hai. Ye kalmaat teen baar kahe, jo parhna chahe.
(2281) (a) Narrated Anas bin Malik (RA): When the Mu'adh-dhin (call to prayer) would give the Adhan, the companions of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to walk quickly towards the pillars (of the mosque) so that they could pray behind him, until the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) would arrive. The companions (RA) used to offer two rak'ahs (Sunnah) before Maghrib, and there was no gap between the Adhan and the Iqamah.
(b) Narrated Uthman bin 'Umar Ash-Sha'bi: There used to be a short interval between the Adhan and Iqamah for the Maghrib prayer.

(٢٢٨١) (ا) سیدنا انس بن مالک (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ موذن جب اذان کہتا تو رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے صحابہ ستونوں کی طرف جلدی جلدی چلتے تاکہ ان کے پیچھے نماز پڑھیں حتیٰ کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) تشریف لاتے۔ صحابہ کرام (رض) مغرب سے پہلے بھی دو رکعتیں ادا کرتے تھے اور اذان اور اقامت کے درمیان کچھ نہیں ہوتا تھا۔
(ب) عثمان بن عمر شعبہ سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ مغرب کی نماز میں اذان اور اقامت کے درمیان تھوڑا سا وقت ہوتا تھا۔
2281 a syedna anas bin malik ra se riwayat hai ke moazzin jab azan kehta to rasool allah salat o salam ke sahaba sutunon ki taraf jaldi jaldi chalte taake un ke peeche namaz parhen hatta ke rasool allah salat o salam tashreef laate sahaba kiram ra maghrib se pehle bhi do rakat ada karte thay aur azan aur iqamat ke darmiyaan kuch nahin hota tha
b usman bin umar shuba se riwayat karte hain ke maghrib ki namaz mein azan aur iqamat ke darmiyaan thora sa waqt hota tha
Narrated Jabir bin 'Abdullah (RA): Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said to Bilal, "O Bilal! Keep some interval between your Adhan and Iqama so that the person taking his meal may finish it, the person drinking may finish it and the person answering the call of nature may become free (and may also offer prayer) and do not stand up for the prayer till you see me."

(٢٢٨٢) حضرت جابر بن عبداللہ (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے بلال (رض) کو فرمایا : اے بلال ! اپنی اذان اور اقامت کے درمیان اتنا وقفہ رکھا کرو جتنی دیر میں کھانا کھانے والا اپنے کھانے سے اور پینے والا اپنے پینے سے اور کوئی حاجت والا اپنی حاجت سے فارغ ہوجائے۔ اور تم تب تک کھڑے نہ ہوا کرو جب تک مجھے دیکھ نہ لو۔
Hazrat Jabir bin Abdullah (RA) se riwayat hai ki Rasul Allah (SAW) ne Bilal (RA) ko farmaya : Aye Bilal ! Apni azan aur iqamat ke darmiyan itna waqfa rakha karo jitni dair mein khana khane wala apne khane se aur pine wala apne pine se aur koi hajat wala apni hajat se farigh hojae. Aur tum tab tak kharay na hua karo jab tak mujhe dekh na lo.
