Chapter on Abandoning Qunut in All Prayers Except Fajr When the Calamity Abates, and in Fajr Prayer for a People or on a People by Their Names or Tribes
باب ترك القنوت في سائر الصلوات غير الصبح عند ارتفاع النازلة وفي صلاة الصبح لقوم أو على قوم بأسمائهم أو قبائلهم
Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 3100
(3100) (a) Narrated Abu Huraira (RA): The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) prayed Qunut in the last Rak'ah of the 'Isha' prayer. After saying ( (سَمِعَ اللَّہُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَہُ ) ), he (ﷺ) supplicated for one month: "O Allah! Save Al-Walid bin Al-Walid. O Allah! Save Salamah bin Hisham. O Allah! Save 'Abbas bin Abi Rabiah. O Allah! Save the weak and oppressed believers. O Allah! Be severe in punishment to the disbelievers. O Allah! Inflict your punishment upon them; a prolonged punishment like that of Prophet Joseph (Yusuf)."
(b) In another narration similar to the above, it is said that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) prayed Qunut in the 'Isha' prayer for a month. He (ﷺ) did not mention 'Ayyash bin Abi Rabiah in it, but he (ﷺ) added at the end: One day the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) did not supplicate for them. So I reminded him (ﷺ). He (ﷺ) said: "Didn't you see them? They have already been rescued from the disbelievers."
(c) Imam Muslim narrated this Hadith in his Sahih, but he mentioned 'Ayyash in it, and at the end, Abu Huraira (RA) said: "I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) stop supplicating for them. I said: 'O Messenger of Allah! I see that you have stopped supplicating for them.' He (ﷺ) replied: 'Haven't you seen that they have already been rescued?'"

(٣١٠٠) (ا) سیدنا ابوہریرہ (رض) بیان کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے عشا کی نماز کی آخری رکعت میں قنوت پڑھی۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ( (سَمِعَ اللَّہُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَہُ ) ) کہنے کے بعد ایک ماہ تک پڑھتے رہے : ” اللہم نجّ الولید بن الولید۔۔۔“ ” الٰہی ولید بن ولید کو نجات دے۔ الٰہی ! سلمہ بن ہشام کو نجات دے۔ اے اللہ ! عباس بن ابی ربیعہ کو نجات دے اور کمزور مسلمانوں کو نجات دے۔ اے اللہ ! کافروں پر اپنی پکڑ سخت کر۔ اے اللہ ! ان پر قحط یوسف کی طرح لمبا عرصہ تک عذاب کو مسلط رکھ۔
(ب) ایک دوسری سند سے اسی کی مثل روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے عشا کی نماز میں ایک ماہ تک قنوت پڑھی۔۔۔ اس میں انھوں نے عیاش بن ابی ربیع کا ذکر نہیں کیا اور اس کے آخر میں اضافہ کیا ہے کہ ایک روز رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ان کے لیے دعا نہیں کی تو میں نے آپ کو یاد دلایا۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : آپ نے انھیں نہیں دیکھا ، وہ تو کفار سے نجات پا کر آچکے ہیں۔
(ج) امام مسلم نے اپنی صحیح میں یہ روایت بیان کی، مگر انھوں نے عیاش کا ذکر بھی کیا اور اس کے آخر میں ہے کہ ابوہریرہ (رض) کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے دیکھا : رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اس کے بعد دعا کرنی چھوڑ دی ہے۔ میں نے عرض کیا : اے اللہ کے رسول ! میں دیکھ رہا ہوں کہ آپ نے ان کے لیے دعا کرنی چھوڑ دی ہے۔ آپ نے جواب دیا : کیا تم نے دیکھا نہیں کہ وہ نجات پا کر آچکے ہیں۔
(3100) (a) Syedna Abu Hurairah (RA) bayan karte hain keh Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne Isha ki namaz ki aakhiri rakat mein qunoot parhi. Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ((Sami Allahu Liman Hamidah)) kehne ke baad ek mah tak parhte rahe: "Allahumma najj'il Waleed bin Waleed..." "Ilahi Waleed bin Waleed ko nijaat de. Ilahi! Salmah bin Hisham ko nijaat de. Aye Allah! Abbas bin Abi Rabee'ah ko nijaat de aur kamzor Musalmanon ko nijaat de. Aye Allah! Kaafiron per apni pakad sakht kar. Aye Allah! Un per Qaht-e-Yousuf ki tarah lamba arsa tak azab ko musallat rakh.
(b) Ek dusri sanad se isi ki misl riwayat hai keh Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne Isha ki namaz mein ek mah tak qunoot parhi... Is mein unhon ne Ayash bin Abi Rabee'ah ka zikar nahin kiya aur is ke aakhir mein izafa kiya hai keh ek roz Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne un ke liye dua nahin ki to maine aap ko yaad dilaya. Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Aap ne unhen nahin dekha, woh to kuffar se nijaat paa kar aa chuke hain.
(c) Imam Muslim ne apni Sahih mein yeh riwayat bayan ki, magar unhon ne Ayash ka zikar bhi kiya aur is ke aakhir mein hai keh Abu Hurairah (RA) kehte hain keh maine dekha: Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne is ke baad dua karni chhor di. Maine arz kiya: Aye Allah ke Rasool! Main dekh raha hoon keh aap ne un ke liye dua karni chhor di hai. Aap ne jawab diya: Kya tum ne dekha nahin keh woh nijaat paa kar aa chuke hain.
(3101) (a) In another narration, Walid bin Muslim reported a similar tradition but he did not mention the Isha prayer, rather he said: “He (the Holy Prophet) would supplicate in one prayer for one month saying (after finishing the prayer) “Sami allahu liman hamidah '' and then in his supplication, he would say…
(b) Harb bin Shaddad narrated a tradition on the authority of Yahya bin Abi Kathir, similar in meaning to the tradition of Awza’i and at its end, it is stated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) continuously supplicated for them until Allah granted them victory. Then you stopped supplicating for them. In another narration reported by Harb, it is stated that Umar bin Khattab (RA) asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ): “O Messenger of Allah, what is the reason that you no longer supplicate for those people?” You (ﷺ) said: “Are you not aware that they have attained salvation?”

(٣١٠١) (ا) ایک دوسری سند میں ولید بن مسلم نے اسی طرح کی روایت بیان کی مگر انھوں نے عشا کا ذکر نہیں کیا بلکہ فرمایا : آپ کسی نماز میں ایک ماہ تک قنوت پڑھتے رہے، جب ( (سَمِعَ اللَّہُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَہُ ) ) کہتے اور پھر اپنی قنوت میں یہ کہتے۔۔۔
(ب) حرب بن شداد نے یحییٰ بن ابی کثیر کے واسطے سے اوزاعی کی روایت کے معنیٰ میں روایت نقل کی ہے اور اس کے آخر میں ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) مسلسل ان کے لیے دعا کرتے رہے حتیٰ کہ اللہ نے انھیں نجات دے دی۔ پھر آپ نے ان کے لیے دعا کرنا چھوڑ دی۔ حرب سے منقول ایک دوسری روایت میں ہے کہ حضرت عمر بن خطاب (رض) نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے کہا : اے اللہ کے رسول ! کیا وجہ ہے کہ اب آپ ان لوگوں کے لیے دعا نہیں کرتے ؟ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : کیا تمہیں پتا نہیں ہے کہ وہ نجات پاچکے ہیں۔
(3101) (a) aik dusri sand mein Walid bin Muslim ne isi tarah ki riwayat bayan ki magar unhon ne Isha ka zikr nahin kiya balkeh farmaya : Aap kisi namaz mein aik mah tak qunut parhte rahe, jab ( (Sami Allahu Liman Hamidah) ) kahte aur phir apni qunut mein yeh kahte...
(b) Harb bin Shaddad ne Yahya bin Abi Kaseer ke waste se Auzai ki riwayat ke maeny mein riwayat naqal ki hai aur is ke akhir mein hai ke Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) musalsal un ke liye dua karte rahe hatta ke Allah ne unhen nijaat de di. Phir Aap ne un ke liye dua karna chhor di. Harb se manqol aik dusri riwayat mein hai ke Hazrat Umar bin Khattab (Razi Allahu Anhu) ne Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) se kaha : Aye Allah ke Rasul! kya wajah hai ke ab Aap un logon ke liye dua nahin karte? Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya : kya tumhen pata nahin hai ke woh nijaat pa chuke hain.
Narrated Anas (RA): The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) observed Qunut for one month, invoking evil upon some Arab tribes, and then he gave it up.

(٣١٠٢) حضرت انس (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ایک ماہ تک قنوت پڑھی۔ اس میں عرب کے بعض قبائل پر بددعا کرتے تھے پھر اس کو چھوڑ دیا۔
(3102) Hazrat Anas (RA) se riwayat hai ki Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne ek mah tak qanot parhi Is mein Arab ke baaz qabail par baddua karte thay phir is ko chhor diya
Narrated by Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) observed Qunut (a supplication during prayer) for a month, then he abandoned it. Abdur Rahman says that he only abandoned the supplication of invoking curse (on the enemies).

(٣١٠٣) حضرت انس (رض) سے منقول ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ایک ماہ قنوت پڑھی ، پھر چھوڑ دی۔ عبدالرحمن کہتے ہیں کہ آپ نے صرف بددعا کرنی چھوڑی تھی۔
Hazrat Anas (RA) se manqol hai keh Rasool Allah (SAW) ne aik mah qanot parhi, phir chhor di. Abdul Rahman kehte hain keh aap ne sirf bad dua karni chori thi.
