Chapter on One Who Cries in His Prayer Without His Voice Audibly Becoming Speech
باب من بكى في صلاته فلم يظهر من صوته ما يكون كلاما له هجاء

Umm al-Mu'minin Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Tell Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) to lead the people in prayer." I said: "O Messenger of Allah! When Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) stands in your place, he will not be able to make the people hear (the recitation) because of crying." You ordered Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) to lead the people in prayer. You (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Tell Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) to lead the people in prayer." Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said that I told Sayyidah Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her): "You tell the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that when Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) stands in his place, he will not be able to make the people hear the recitation due to excessive crying, so order Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) to lead the people in prayer." Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her) did so, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "You are like the women of Yusuf (Joseph) (peace be upon him). Tell Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) to lead the people in prayer." So Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her) said to Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): "No good has come to me from you."

(٣٣٥٤) ام المومنین سیدہ عائشہ (رض) بیان کرتی ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ابوبکر (رض) سے کہو وہ لوگوں کو نماز پڑھائیں۔ میں نے عرض کیا : اے اللہ کے رسول ! ابوبکر (رض) جب آپ کی جگہ کھڑے ہوں گے تو رونے کی وجہ سے لوگوں کو (قراءت) نہ سنا پائیں گے۔ آپ عمر (رض) کو حکم دیں کہ وہ لوگوں کو نماز پڑھا دیں۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ابوبکر (رض) کو کہو کہ لوگوں کو نماز پڑھائیں۔ عائشہ (رض) کہتی ہیں کہ میں نے سیدہ حفصہ (رض) کو کہا کہ تم رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو کہو کہ ابوبکر (رض) جب آپ کی جگہ پر کھڑے ہوں گے تو کثرت گریہ کے سبب لوگوں کو قراءت نہ سنا سکیں گے، آپ عمر (رض) کو حکم فرمائیں کہ وہ لوگوں کو نماز پڑھا دیں۔ حفصہ (رض) نے ایسے ہی کیا تو رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : تم تو یوسف (علیہ السلام) کی عورتوں کی طرح ہو۔ ابوبکر (رض) سے کہو کہ وہ لوگوں کو نماز پڑھائیں تو حفصہ (رض) نے عائشہ (رض) سے کہا : مجھے تم سے کوئی خیر نہیں پہنچی۔
3354 Umm ul Momineen Sayyida Ayesha (RA) bayan karti hain keh Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Abubakar (RA) se kaho woh logon ko namaz parhaen. Maine arz kiya: Aye Allah ke Rasool! Abubakar (RA) jab aap ki jaga khade honge tou rone ki wajah se logon ko (qiraat) na suna payenge. Aap Umar (RA) ko hukum den keh woh logon ko namaz parha den. Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Abubakar (RA) ko kaho keh logon ko namaz parhaen. Ayesha (RA) kehti hain keh maine Sayyida Hafsa (RA) ko kaha keh tum Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko kaho keh Abubakar (RA) jab aap ki jaga par khade honge tou kasrat گریہ ke sabab logon ko qiraat na suna sakenge, aap Umar (RA) ko hukum farmaen keh woh logon ko namaz parha den. Hafsa (RA) ne aise hi kiya tou Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Tum tou Yusuf (Alaihissalam) ki auraton ki tarah ho. Abubakar (RA) se kaho keh woh logon ko namaz parhaen tou Hafsa (RA) ne Ayesha (RA) se kaha: Mujhe tumse koi khair nahin pahunchi.
(3355) (a) Hamza bin Abdullah narrated from his father that when the illness of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) intensified, he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Tell Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer.” Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said, “O Messenger of Allah! Abu Bakr is a soft-hearted man. When he stands in your place, he will not be able to recite (the Quran) due to crying because of the people.” He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) again said, “Tell Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer.” She again said the same thing as she had said before. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “You are like the women of Joseph (Yusuf). Tell Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer.”
(b) It is narrated in Sahih Muslim on the authority of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that Abu Bakr was a soft-hearted man and when he would recite the Quran, he would be overcome by his tears.

(٣٣٥٥) (ا) حمزہ بن عبداللہ اپنے والد سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ جب آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی بیماری میں شدت آگئی تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ابوبکر (رض) سے کہو کہ لوگوں کو نماز پڑھائیں تو سیدہ عائشہ (رض) نے عرض کیا : اے اللہ کے رسول ! ابوبکر (رض) نرم دل والے ہیں، جب آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی جگہ کھڑے ہوں گے تو لوگوں کو رونے کے سبب قرات نہ سنا سکیں گے۔ آپ (علیہ السلام) نے پھر فرمایا : ابوبکر سے کہیے وہ لوگوں کو نماز پڑھائیں۔ انھوں نے پھر اسی طرح بات کی جیسے پہلے کہی تھی تو رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : تم یوسف (علیہ السلام) کی عورتوں جیسی ہو۔ ابوبکر (رض) سے کہو کہ لوگوں کو نماز پڑھائیں۔
(ب) صحیح مسلم میں سیدہ عائشہ (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ ابوبکر (رض) نرم دل والے ہیں جب قرآن پڑھتے ہیں تو اپنے آنسوؤں پر قابو نہیں پاسکتے۔
(3355) (a) Hamza bin Abdullah apne walid se riwayat karte hain ki jab aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ki bimari mein shiddat aa gai to aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Abubakar (ra) se kaho ki logon ko namaz parhai to Sayyida Ayesha (ra) ne arz kiya: Aye Allah ke Rasool! Abubakar (ra) narm dil wale hain, jab aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ki jagah khare honge to logon ko rone ke sabab qirat na suna sakenge. Aap (alaihis salam) ne phir farmaya: Abubakar se kahiye wo logon ko namaz parhai. Unhon ne phir usi tarah baat ki jaise pehle kahi thi to Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Tum Yusuf (alaihis salam) ki auraton jaisi ho. Abubakar (ra) se kaho ki logon ko namaz parhai.
(b) Sahih Muslim mein Sayyida Ayesha (ra) se riwayat hai ki Abubakar (ra) narm dil wale hain jab Quran parhte hain to apne aansuon par qaboo nahi pa sakte.
Mutraf narrated from his father Abdullah bin Shakh'ir (may Allah be pleased with him) that "I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) praying, and because of his crying, a sound like that of a hand-mill was coming from his chest."

(٣٣٥٦) مطرف اپنے والد عبداللہ بن شخیر (رض) سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو نماز پڑھتے ہوئے دیکھا، آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے رونے کی وجہ سے آپ کے سینے سے چکی چلنے جیسی آواز آرہی تھی۔
Mutraf apne walid Abdullah bin Shakhīr (RA) se riwayat karte hain ki maine Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko namaz parhte huye dekha, aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke rone ki wajah se aap ke seene se chakki chalne jaisi aawaz aa rahi thi.
At the end of the narration of Hammad bin Salamah, it is stated that there used to be a sound coming from your (Prophet Muhammad's صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) stomach like the sound of a boiling pot.

(٣٣٥٧) حماد بن سلمہ کی روایت کے آخر میں ہے کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے پیٹ سے ہنڈیا کے ابلنے کی طرح آواز آتی تھی۔
(3357) Hamad bin Salma ki riwayat ke akhir mein hai ki aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke pet se handi ke ubalne ki tarah aawaz aati thi.
`Alqama bin Abi Waqas narrated that Umar bin Khattab (ra) was reciting Surah Yusuf in the Isha prayer and I was standing in the last rows. When he reached the mention of Yusuf (as), I heard the sound of his crying emanating from his chest in the last row.`

(٣٣٥٨) علقمہ بن ابی وقاص بیان کرتے ہیں کہ سیدنا عمر بن خطاب (رض) عشا کی نماز میں سورة یوسف پڑھ رہے تھے اور میں آخری صفوں میں کھڑا تھا۔ جب وہ یوسف (علیہ السلام) کے ذکر پر پہنچے تو میں نے آخری صف میں آپ کے سینے سے رونے کے دوران نکلنے والی آواز سنی۔
Alqama bin Abi Waqas bayan karte hain ke Sayyidna Umar bin Khattab (RA) Isha ki namaz mein Surah Yusuf parh rahe the aur mein aakhri safo mein khara tha. Jab woh Yusuf (Alaihi Salam) ke zikar par pahunche toh maine aakhri saf mein aap ke seene se rone ke dauran nikalne wali aawaz suni.
