Chapter on One Who Touches His Beard in Prayer Without Purposeful Action
باب من مس لحيته في الصلاة من غير عبث
Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 3430
Amr ibn Harith reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) would place his right hand over his left in prayer, and sometimes he would stroke his beard during prayer.

(٣٤٣٠) عمرو بن حریث فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نماز میں دائیں ہاتھ کو بائیں ہاتھ پر رکھتے اور کبھی کبھار نماز کے دوران اپنی داڑھی کو بھی چھو لیتے۔
(3430) Amr bin Haris farmate hain ki Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) namaz mein daen hath ko baen hath par rakhte aur kabhi kabhar namaz ke doran apni darhi ko bhi chho lete.
(3431) (a) It is narrated from 'Amr bin Harith that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to sometimes hold his beard while praying.
(b) Ibrahim Nakha'i said that it is said: Touch the beard once in prayer or don't touch it at all but leave it.
(c) Imam Bayhaqi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: This is like what is narrated about touching the pebbles once.

(٣٤٣١) (ا) عمرو بن حریث سے روایت ہے کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نماز پڑھتے ہوئے کبھی کبھی اپنی داڑھی کو بھی پکڑ لیتے تھے۔
(ب) ابراہیم نخعی فرماتے ہیں کہ کہا جاتا ہے : نماز میں ڈاڑھی کو ایک بار چھولے یا ایک بار بھی نہ چھوئے بلکہ چھوڑ دے۔
(ج) امام بیہقی (رح) فرماتے ہیں : یہ بھی اسی کی مثل ہے جو ایک بار کنکریوں کو چھونے کے بارے میں منقول ہے۔
(3431) (a) Amr bin Haris se riwayat hai ki Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) namaz parhte hue kabhi kabhi apni darhi ko bhi pakad lete the
(b) Ibrahim Nakhai farmate hain ki kaha jata hai: Namaz mein darhi ko ek bar chhue ya ek bar bhi na chhue balki chhor de
(j) Imam Baihaqi (rh) farmate hain: Yah bhi usi ki misl hai jo ek bar kankariyon ko chhune ke bare mein manqol hai
Ishaq bin Musa al-Khatmi said: I heard Walid bin Muslim say: I heard Isa bin Abdullah bin Hukm bin Nu'man bin Bashir, and he narrated from Nafi'. However, his hearing from him is not established.

(٣٤٣٢) اسحق بن موسیٰ خطمی کہتے ہیں : میں نے ولید بن مسلم کو فرماتے ہوئے سنا کہ میں نے عیسیٰ بن عبداللہ بن حکم بن نعمان بن بشیر کو سنا اور انھوں نے نافع سے نقل کیا۔ ان کا ان سے سماع ثابت نہیں۔
(3432) Ishaq bin Musa Khatmi kehte hain : mainne Walid bin Muslim ko farmate huye suna ki mainne Isa bin Abdullah bin Hukm bin Noman bin Bashir ko suna aur unhon ne Nafi se naqal kiya. Unka unse samaa sabit nahin.
(3433) (a) Narrated by Abdullah bin Umar (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would sometimes, out of necessity, place his blessed hand on his blessed beard during prayer.
(b) It is narrated from Ibrahim that he would touch his beard once or twice, and that's it.

(٣٤٣٣) (ا) حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کبھی کبھار نماز میں ضرورت کی وجہ سے اپنا ہاتھ مبارک اپنی ڈاڑھی مبارک پر رکھ لیتے۔
(ب) ابراہیم سے منقول ہے کہ ایک آدھ بار ڈاڑھی کو چھو لے اور بس۔
(3433) (a) Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (RA) se riwayat hai ke Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) kabhi kabhar namaz mein zaroorat ki wajah se apna hath mubarak apni darhi mubarak par rakh lete.
(b) Ibrahim se manqol hai ke ek aadh baar darhi ko chhu le aur bas.
