Chapter on Prostration When It Is at the End of a Surah and During Prayer
باب السجدة إذا كان في آخر السورة وكان في الصلاة
Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 3762
Narrated Abu Huraira: I saw 'Umar bin Khattab reciting Surat-an-Najm in the Fajr prayer and he prostrated after reciting it, and then he started another Sura.

(٣٧٦٢) سیدنا ابوہریرہ (رض) بیان فرماتے ہیں : میں سیدنا عمر بن خطاب (رض) کو دیکھا ، انھوں نے سورة نجم میں فجر کی نماز میں سجدہ کیا ، پھر دوسری سورت شروع کردی۔
(3762) syedna abuhuraira (rz) bayan farmate hain : main syedna umar bin khattab (rz) ko dekha, unhon ne sura najm mein fajr ki namaz mein sajda kiya, phir dusri surat shuru kardi.
Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Masud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: When a verse of prostration occurs at the end of a Surah, then if you wish, perform the Ruku (bowing) or if you wish, perform the Sajdah (prostration).

(٣٧٦٣) سیدنا عبداللہ بن مسعود (رض) فرماتے ہیں : جب سجدہ سورت کے اخیر میں ہو تو اگر چاہے تو رکوع کرلے اور اگر چاہے تو سجدہ کرلے۔
(3763) sydna abdullah bin masood (rz) farmaty hain : jab sajda surat k akhir mein ho to agar chahy to ruku karly aur agar chahy to sajda karly.
Aswad (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding a person who recites a Surah in prayer that ends with a Sajdah (prostration): He has the option to either perform Ruku (bowing) or Sajdah. Then he should stand up, recite (the rest of the prayer), perform Ruku and Sajdah.

(٣٧٦٤) حضرت اسود (رض) ، حضرت عبداللہ (رض) سے اس شخص کے بارے میں روایت کرتے ہیں جو نماز میں ایسی سورت پڑھے جس کے آخر میں سجدہ ہو، وہ اگر چاہے تو رکوع کرلے اور اگر چاہے تو سجدہ کرلے۔ پھر کھڑا ہو کر قراءت کرے، رکوع کرے اور سجدہ کرے۔
(3764) Hazrat Aswad (RA), Hazrat Abdullah (RA) se is shakhs ke bare mein riwayat karte hain jo namaz mein aisi surat padhe jis ke akhir mein sajda ho, woh agar chahe to ruku kar le aur agar chahe to sajda kar le. Phir khara ho kar qirat kare, ruku kare aur sajda kare.
(3765) (a) Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Two men, who are better than me in terms of knowledge, narrated a Hadith to me. It was either Abu Bakr Siddique (may Allah be pleased with him) or Umar Farooq (may Allah be pleased with him). I don't remember who narrated it. One of them performed Sajdah (prostration) while reciting Surah Inshiqaq and Surah Alaq.
(b) Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) used to perform Sajdah when someone recited a portion of the Quran along with him. If no one recited with him, he would perform Ruku (bowing).
(c) Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) used to perform Sajdah when he recited it (Surah Inshiqaq). Then he would stand up from Sajdah and recite Surah Teen or a similar Surah.
(d) It is narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) also performed Sajdah for it (Surah Inshiqaq). And in the narration of Barti, it is mentioned, "Even if the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) or Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) were not present."

(٣٧٦٥) (ا) حضرت ابوہریرہ (رض) فرماتے ہیں : مجھے ایسے دو آدمیوں نے حدیث بیان کی جو مجھ سے بہترین ہیں حضرت ابوبکر صدیق (رض) یا حضرت عمر فاروق (رض) میں سے کسی نے فرمایا : مجھے نہیں یاد کہ کس نے بتایا ؟ ان میں سے کسی ایک نے سورة انشقاق اور سورة علق میں سجدہ کیا۔
(ب) سیدنا ابن عمر (رض) جب اس کے ساتھ کوئی اور قرآن کا حصہ ملاتے تو سجدہ کرتے اور اگر اس کے ساتھ کوئی اور حصہ نہ ملاتے تو رکوع کرلیتے۔
(ج) حضرت عثمان بن عفان (رض) جب اس کو پڑھتے تو سجدہ کرتے، پھر سجدے سے اٹھ کر سورة تین یا اس کے مشابہ کوئی سورت پڑھتے۔
(د) فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے بھی اس کے ساتھ سجدہ کیا ہے اور برتی کی حدیث میں ہے کہ اگرچہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) یا حضرت عمر بن خطاب (رض) نہ ہوں۔
(3765) (a) Hazrat Abu Hurairah (RA) farmate hain : mujhe aise do admiyon ne hadees bayan ki jo mujh se behtarin hain Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (RA) ya Hazrat Umar Farooq (RA) mein se kisi ne farmaya : mujhe nahi yaad ke kis ne bataya ? In mein se kisi ek ne Surah Inshiqaq aur Surah Alaq mein sajda kiya.
(b) Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (RA) jab is ke sath koi aur Quran ka hissa milate to sajda karte aur agar is ke sath koi aur hissa na milate to ruku karlete.
(c) Hazrat Usman bin Affan (RA) jab is ko padhte to sajda karte, phir sajde se uth kar Surah Teen ya is ke mushabiha koi surat padhte.
(d) Farmate hain ke Nabi (SAW) ne bhi is ke sath sajda kiya hai aur barti ki hadees mein hai ke agar chahe Nabi (SAW) ya Hazrat Umar bin Khattab (RA) na hon.
