Chapter on Prostration of Forgetfulness Due to Deficiency in Prayer Before Salutation
باب سجود السهو في النقص من الصلاة قبل التسليم
Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 3813
Narrated Abdullah bin Malik: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) led us (in the prayer) and offered two rak'ahs of a prayer and then stood up (for the third rak'ah) without sitting, and the people also stood up along with him. When he (ﷺ) finished the prayer, he performed two prostrations before giving the greeting (salam). Then he gave the greeting (salutation).

(٣٨١٣) حضرت عبداللہ بن مالک (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ہمیں بعض نمازوں کی دو رکعتیں پڑھائیں ، پھر آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) بیٹھے بغیر کھڑے ہوگئی اور نمازی بھی آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے ساتھ کھڑے ہوگئے، جب آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے نماز مکمل کرلی تو ہم سلام پھیرنے کا انتظار کر رہے تھے، آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے تکبیر کہی اور سلام پھیرنے سے پہلے دو سجدے کیے پھر سلام پھیرا۔
(3813) Hazrat Abdullah bin Malik (RA) farmate hain ke Rasool Allah (SAW) ne hamen baaz namaazon ki do rakattain parhaeen, phir aap (SAW) baithe baghair khare hogaye aur namaazi bhi aap (SAW) ke saath khare hogaye, jab aap (SAW) ne namaz mukammal karli to hum salaam phirne ka intezaar kar rahe the, aap (SAW) ne takbeer kahi aur salaam phirne se pehle do sijde kiye phir salaam pheira.
Abdullah bin Buhaina (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that whenever the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayed any of the daily prayers, he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would not sit after two rak'ahs. When he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) drew near to the end of the prayer, we would anticipate his (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) giving the Salam. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would perform two prostrations (of forgetfulness) before giving the Salam and then he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would give the Salam.

(٣٨١٤) حضرت عبداللہ بن بحینہ (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے دن کی نمازوں میں سے کوئی نماز پڑھائی تو دو رکعتوں بعد نہیں بیٹھے۔ جب آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نماز کے اختتام کے قریب پہنچے تو ہم آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے سلام پھیرنے کا انتظار کرنے لگے۔ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے سلام پھیرنے سے پہلے دو سجدے کیے پھر سلام پھیرا۔
(3814) Hazrat Abdullah bin Buhaina (RA) farmate hain ke Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne din ki namaazon mein se koi namaz parhai to do rakaton baad nahi baithe. Jab aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) namaz ke ikhtitam ke kareeb pahunche to hum aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke salaam phirne ka intezar karne lage. Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne salaam phirne se pehle do sajday kiye phir salaam phira.
(3815) (a) Muhammad bin Yusuf (may Allah have mercy on him), the freed slave of Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him), narrates from his father that Mu'awiyah bin Abi Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with him) once forgot to sit in the second sitting of prayer. When he was in the final sitting of the prayer, before the salutation, he prostrated twice and said, "I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) doing this."
(b) Imam Bayhaqi (may Allah have mercy on him) said, "Similarly, Aqabah bin Amir Jahni (may Allah be pleased with him) also did this."
(c) Imam Abu Dawud Sijistani (may Allah have mercy on him) said that Abdullah bin Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) also, when he stood up after praying two rak'ahs, prostrated twice before the salutation, and this is the saying of Imam Zuhri (may Allah have mercy on him).

(٣٨١٥) (ا) حضرت عثمان (رض) کے آزاد کردہ غلام محمد بن یوسف (رح) اپنے والد سے نقل کرتے ہیں کہ حضرت معاویہ بن ابوسفیان (رض) نے انھیں نماز پڑھائی تو بھول گئے۔ آپ نے قعدہ کرنا تھا مگر نہیں کیا۔ جب وہ نماز کے آخری قعدے میں تھے تو سلام سے پہلے دو سجدے کیے پھر فرمایا : میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو اس طرح کرتے ہوئے دیکھا ہے۔
(ب) امام بیہقی (رح) فرماتے ہیں : اسی طرح حضرت عقبہ بن عامر جہنی (رض) نے بھی کیا ہے۔
(ج) امام ابوداؤد سجستانی (رح) نے بیان کیا کہ سیدنا عبداللہ بن زبیر (رض) بھی جب دو رکعتیں پڑھنے کے بعد کھڑے ہوگئے تھے تو انھوں نے بھی اسی طرح سلام پھیرنے سے پہلے دو سجدے کیے تھے اور یہ امام زہری (رح) کا قول ہے۔
(3815) (a) Hazrat Usman (RA) ke azad kardah ghulam Muhammad bin Yousuf (RA) apne walid se naql karte hain ke Hazrat Muawiya bin Abu Sufyan (RA) ne unhen namaz parhayi to bhool gaye. Aap ne qada karna tha magar nahin kiya. Jab wo namaz ke aakhri qade mein the to salaam se pehle do sajde kiye phir farmaya: main ne Rasul Allah (SAW) ko is tarah karte huye dekha hai.
(b) Imam Bayhaqi (RA) farmate hain: isi tarah Hazrat Aqaba bin Aamir Jahni (RA) ne bhi kiya hai.
(c) Imam Abu Dawood Sijistani (RA) ne bayan kiya ke Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zubair (RA) bhi jab do rakaten padhne ke baad khare hogaye the to unhon ne bhi isi tarah salaam phirne se pehle do sajde kiye the aur ye Imam Zuhri (RA) ka qaul hai.
