Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 4024
Rabi' bin Yazid narrated to me that Qaza'a narrated a hadith to me that I went to Abu Sa'eed (may Allah be pleased with him). Many people were seeking knowledge from him. When the people went away from him, I said: I will not ask you about what these people were asking you, but I have come to ask you about the prayer of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He said: It is not good for you. I asked again and he said: The noon prayer of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would begin and one of us would go to al-Ghirqad, relieve himself, then come to his house, perform ablution, then come to the mosque and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would still be in the first rak'ah.

(٤٠٢٤) ربیع بن یزید سے روایت ہے کہ مجھے قزعہ نے حدیث بیان کی کہ میں ابو سعید (رض) کے پاس آیا۔ بہت سے لوگ آپ سے طالب کرم تھے۔ جب لوگ ان سے دور ہوگئے تو میں نے کہا : میں آپ سے اس چیز کے بارے میں سوال نہیں کروں گا جس کے متعلق یہ لوگ آپ سے سوال کر رہے تھے بلکہ میں آپ سے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی نماز کے بارے میں پوچھنے آیا ہوں۔
انھوں نے کہا : تیرے لیے اس میں خیر نہیں ہے۔ میں نے پھر سوال لوٹایا تو انھوں نے فرمایا : رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی ظہر کی نماز کھڑی ہوتی تو ہم میں سے کوئی ایک بقیع غرقد تک جاتا اپنی حاجت پوری کرتا پھر اپنے گھر آ کر وضو کرتا پھر مسجد میں آتا تو رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) پہلی رکعت میں ہی ہوتے تھے۔
(4024) Rabia bin Yazid se riwayat hai ki mujhe Qaza ne hadees bayan ki ke mein Abu Saeed (RA) ke paas aaya. Bahut se log aapse talib-e-karam thay. Jab log unse door hogaye to maine kaha: mein aapse us cheez ke baare mein sawal nahin karoonga jis ke mutalliq yeh log aapse sawal kar rahay thay balkeh mein aapse Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ki namaz ke baare mein puchne aaya hoon. Unhon ne kaha: tere liye is mein khair nahin hai. Maine phir sawal loutaya to unhon ne farmaya: Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ki Zuhr ki namaz khadi hoti to hum mein se koi ek Baqee Gharqad tak jata apni hajat poori karta phir apne ghar aa kar wazu karta phir masjid mein aata to Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) pehli rakat mein hi hotay thay.
(4025) It is narrated on the authority of Abu Sa'eed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that we used to estimate the duration of the Prophet's (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) standing in the Zuhr and Asr prayers. We estimated that he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would stand in the first two rak'ahs of Zuhr for as long as it takes to recite Surah Sajdah { الم تَنْزِیلُ }. We estimated that he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would stand in the last two rak'ahs for half the time of the first two, and in the first two rak'ahs of Asr for the same amount of time as the last two rak'ahs of Zuhr, and in the last two rak'ahs of Asr for half the time of the first two rak'ahs of Asr.

(٤٠٢٥) ابو سعید خدری (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ ہم ظہر اور عصر کی نماز میں رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے قیام کا اندازہ لگایا کرتے تھے۔ ہم نے اندازہ لگایا کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ظہر کی پہلی دو رکعتوں میں اتنا قیام فرماتے جتنی دیر میں { الم تَنْزِیلُ } سورة سجدہ تلاوت کی جاسکے۔ ہم نے آخری دو رکعتوں میں پہلی دونوں کے نصف کے برابر اور عصر کی پہلی دو رکعتوں میں ظہر کی آخری دونوں رکعتوں کے برابر اور عصر کی آخری دونوں میں عصر کی پہلی دو رکعتوں کے نصف کے برابر اندازہ لگایا۔
(4025) Abu Saeed Khudri (RA) se riwayat hai ki hum Zuhar aur Asar ki namaz mein Rasool Allah (SAW) ke qayam ka andaza lagaya karte thay. Hum ne andaza lagaya ki aap (SAW) Zuhar ki pehli do rakaton mein itna qayam farmate jitni dair mein {Al-Tanzil} Surah Sajdah tilawat ki ja sake. Hum ne aakhri do rakaton mein pehli do no ke nisf ke barabar aur Asar ki pehli do rakaton mein Zuhar ki aakhri do rakaton ke barabar aur Asar ki aakhri do no mein Asar ki pehli do rakaton ke nisf ke barabar andaza lagaya.
(4026) (a) It is narrated on the authority of Thamāk ibn Harb that he heard Jābir ibn Samurah say: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite, in the Zuhr and ‘Asr prayers, واللَّیْلِ إِذَا یَغْشَی (By the night when it covers) and similar Surahs, and in the morning prayer, he would recite longer Surahs than these.
(b) In Sahih Muslim, this narration is reported with this difference: He did not mention ‘Asr and said: He would recite { سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّکَ الأَعْلَی } (Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High).

(٤٠٢٦) (ا) سماک بن حرب (رح) سے روایت ہے کہ میں نے جابر بن سمرہ (رض) کو فرماتے ہوئے سنا کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ظہر اور عصر کی نماز میں واللَّیْلِ إِذَا یَغْشَی اور اس جیسی سورتیں پڑھا کرتے تھے اور صبح کی نماز میں اس سے لمبی لمبی سورتیں پڑھا کرتے تھے۔
(ب) صحیح مسلم میں یہ روایت ہے : مگر اس میں انھوں نے عصر کا ذکر نہیں کیا اور فرمایا : { سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّکَ الأَعْلَی } پڑھا کرتے تھے۔
4026 a Samak bin Harb RA se riwayat hai ki maine Jabir bin Samrah RA ko farmate huye suna ki Rasul Allah SAW zuhar aur asr ki namaz mein Wallayli iza yagsha aur is jaisi suraten parha karte thay aur subah ki namaz mein is se lambi lambi suraten parha karte thay b Sahih Muslim mein ye riwayat hai magar is mein unhon ne asr ka zikr nahin kiya aur farmaya Sabbih isma rabbikal aala parha karte thay
(4028) (a) It is narrated on the authority of Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to recite {And by the sky and the night-comer} and {And by the sky containing great stars} in Zuhr and Asr prayers. [Hasan. Narrated by Tayalisi 811]
(b) In the narration of Salhini, it is stated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to recite {And by the sky containing great stars} and {And by the sky and the night-comer} and similar Surahs in Zuhr and Asr prayers.

(٤٠٢٨) (ا) جابر (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ظہر اور عصر کی نماز میں { وَالسَّمَائِ وَالطَّارِقِ } اور { وَالسَّمَائِ ذَاتِ الْبُرُوجِ } پڑھا کرتے تھے۔ [حسن۔ أخرجہ الطیالسی ٨١١]
(ب) سالحینی کی روایت میں ہے کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ظہر اور عصر کی نماز میں وَالسَّمَائِ ذَاتِ الْبُرُوجِ اور { وَالسَّمَائِ وَالطَّارِقِ } اور ان جیسی سورتیں پڑھا کرتے تھے۔
(4028) (a) Jabir (RA) se riwayat hai ki Rasul Allah (SAW) Zuhr aur Asr ki namaz mein { waalsamai waaltariq } aur { waalsamai zaatil burooj } parha karte thay. [Hasan. Akhraja Tyalsi 811]
(b) Salhini ki riwayat mein hai ki Nabi (SAW) Zuhr aur Asr ki namaz mein waalsamai zaatil burooj aur { waalsamai waaltariq } aur in jaisi suratain parha karte thay.
