Chapter on Cleaning Mosques and Perfuming Them with Incense and Other Things
باب في تنظيف المساجد وتطييبها بالخلوق وغيره
Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 4308
Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ordered to build mosques in localities and said: Keep them clean and perfumed.

(٤٣٠٨) حضرت عائشہ (رض) فرماتی ہیں کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے محلوں میں مسجدیں بنانے کا حکم دیا اور فرمایا : ان کو پاک و صاف رکھا جائے اور خوشبو لگائی جائے۔
4308 Hazrat Ayesha (RA) farmati hain keh Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne mohalon mein masjidain bananay ka hukum diya aur farmaya: in ko pak o saaf rakha jaye aur khushbu lagayi jaye.
Samra (may Allah be pleased with her) wrote to her sons that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) commanded us to build mosques in our towns and ordered us to build them properly and keep them clean.

(٤٣٠٩) سمرہ (رض) نے اپنے بیٹوں کو لکھا کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ہمیں اپنے شہروں میں مسجدیں بنانے کا حکم دیتے تھے اور فرماتے تھے کہ ان کی درست تعمیر کریں اور پاک رکھیں۔
4309 Samra RA ne apne beton ko likha keh Nabi SAW hamen apne shahron mein masjidain banane ka hukum dete thay aur farmate thay keh in ki durust tameer karen aur pak rakhen.
Abu Walid asked Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) how the use of saffron fragrance started in the mosque. He said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to the mosque and saw phlegm in the mosque towards the qibla. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "There should be something better than this." A man heard this, so he brought saffron. He scratched it and applied the saffron there. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "This is better than before." So, the people continued doing the same.

(٤٣١٠) ابو ولید نے ابن عمر (رض) سے سوال کیا کہ مسجد میں زعفران خوشبو کی ابتدا کیسے ہوئی ؟ انھوں نے فرمایا : نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) مسجد میں آئے تو قبلہ کی جانب مسجد میں بلغم دیکھی، آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : اس کے علاوہ کوئی اچھی چیز ہونی چاہیے، ایک آدمی نے یہ بات سنی تو وہ زعفران لے کر آیا۔ اس نے اسے کھرچ دیا اور وہاں پر زعفران مل دی۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : یہ پہلی سے زیادہ اچھی ہے، پھر لوگوں نے ایسا ہی کیا۔
4310 Abu Waleed ne Ibn Umar (RA) se sawal kya ke masjid mein zaffran khushbu ki ibtida kaise hui? Unhon ne farmaya: Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) masjid mein aaye to qibla ki jaanib masjid mein balgham dekhi, Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Iske ilawa koi acchi cheez honi chahiye, ek aadmi ne ye baat suni to woh zaffran lekar aaya. Usne use khurch diya aur wahan par zaffran mal di. Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Ye pehli se zyada acchi hai, phir logon ne aisa hi kya.
Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) missed a black woman who used to clean the mosque. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked: "Where is so and so woman?" The people said: "She has passed away."

(٤٣١١) حضرت ابوہریرہ (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ایک سیاہ رنگ کی عورت کو گم پایا، وہ مسجد کی صفائی کرتی تھی۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے پوچھا : فلاں عورت کدھر ہے۔ لوگوں نے کہا : وہ فوت ہوگئی ہے۔
4311 Hazrat Abu Huraira (RA) farmate hain ke Nabi (SAW) ne ek siyah rang ki aurat ko gum paya, woh masjid ki safai karti thi. Aap (SAW) ne poocha : Fulan aurat kidhar hai. Logon ne kaha : Woh فوت hogayi hai.
