Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 4310
Abu Walid asked Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) how the use of saffron fragrance started in the mosque. He said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to the mosque and saw phlegm in the mosque towards the qibla. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "There should be something better than this." A man heard this, so he brought saffron. He scratched it and applied the saffron there. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "This is better than before." So, the people continued doing the same.

(٤٣١٠) ابو ولید نے ابن عمر (رض) سے سوال کیا کہ مسجد میں زعفران خوشبو کی ابتدا کیسے ہوئی ؟ انھوں نے فرمایا : نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) مسجد میں آئے تو قبلہ کی جانب مسجد میں بلغم دیکھی، آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : اس کے علاوہ کوئی اچھی چیز ہونی چاہیے، ایک آدمی نے یہ بات سنی تو وہ زعفران لے کر آیا۔ اس نے اسے کھرچ دیا اور وہاں پر زعفران مل دی۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : یہ پہلی سے زیادہ اچھی ہے، پھر لوگوں نے ایسا ہی کیا۔
4310 Abu Waleed ne Ibn Umar (RA) se sawal kya ke masjid mein zaffran khushbu ki ibtida kaise hui? Unhon ne farmaya: Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) masjid mein aaye to qibla ki jaanib masjid mein balgham dekhi, Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Iske ilawa koi acchi cheez honi chahiye, ek aadmi ne ye baat suni to woh zaffran lekar aaya. Usne use khurch diya aur wahan par zaffran mal di. Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Ye pehli se zyada acchi hai, phir logon ne aisa hi kya.
٤٣١٠ - أنبأ أَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو، أنبأ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الصَّفَّارُ، أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْبِرْتِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو مَعْمَرٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ، ثنا عُمَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ،حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ قَالَ:قُلْتُ لِابْنِ عُمَرَ: مَا كَانَ بَدْءُ هَذَا الزَّعْفَرَانِ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ؟قَالَ:خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَرَأَى نُخَامَةً فِي قِبْلَةِ الْمَسْجِدِ،فَقَالَ:" غَيْرُ هَذَا أَحْسَنُ مِنْ هَذَا "فَسَمِعَ بِذَلِكَ رَجُلٌ فَجَاءَ بِزَعْفَرَانٍ فَحَكَّهَا، ثُمَّ طَلَى بِالزَّعْفَرَانِ مَكَانَهَا،فَلَمَّا رَأَى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَلِكَ قَالَ:" هَذَا أَحْسَنُ مِنَ الْأَوَّلِ "قَالَ: وَصَنْعَهُ النَّاسُ وَحَدِيثُ جَابِرٍ فِي هَذَا قَدْ مَضَى فِي بَابِ الْبُزَاقِ
