Chapter on the Dislike of Announcing Lost Items and Other Inappropriate Activities in the Mosque
باب كراهية إنشاد الضالة في المسجد، وغير ذلك مما لا يليق بالمسجد
Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 4343
(4343) Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "When you hear a man making a claim for a lost thing in the mosque, say: 'May Allah not restore it to you. Mosques were not built for this purpose.'"
(b) In the narration transmitted by Ibn Wahb (the words are): "May Allah not return it to you; mosques were not built for this purpose."

(٤٣٤٣) ابوہریرہ (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : جو کسی کو مسجد میں گم شدہ چیز کا اعلان کرتے سنے تو وہ کہے : اللہ تیری چیز واپس نہ کرے۔ مسجدیں اس لیے نہیں بنائی جائیں۔
(ب) ابن وھب کی حدیث میں ہے کہ اللہ تیری چیز واپس نہ لوٹائے مسجدیں اس لیے نہیں بنائی جاتیں۔
(4343) Abu Hurairah (RA) farmate hain keh Rasul Allah (SAW) ne farmaya: Jo kisi ko masjid mein gum shuda cheez ka elan karte sune to woh kahe: Allah teri cheez wapas na kare. Masjiden is liye nahi banayi jati.
(b) Ibn Wahab ki hadees mein hai keh Allah teri cheez wapas na lutaye masjiden is liye nahi banayi jati.
Sulaiman bin Buraidah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from his father that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) heard a man announcing about a red camel. So he (the Prophet) said: "You will not find it. The mosques are built for that for which they were built."

(٤٣٤٤) سلیمان بن بریدہ (رض) اپنے والد سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ایک شخص کو سرخ اونٹ کے بارے میں اعلان کرتے سنا تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : تو نہ پائے، مسجدیں تو جس غرض سے بنائی گئیں اسی کے لیے ہیں۔
Sulaiman bin Buraidah (RA) apne walid se naql farmate hain ki Nabi (SAW) ne ek shakhs ko surkh unt ke bare mein elaan karte suna to aap (SAW) ne farmaya: Tu na paye, masjidain to jis gharz se banayi gayin usi ke liye hain.
Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: When you see someone buying or selling in the mosque, then say: May Allah not make your trade profitable. And when you see someone announcing a lost item in the mosque, then say: May Allah not return your lost item to you.

(٤٣٤٥) حضرت ابوہریرہ (رض) نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ جب تم کسی کو مسجد میں خریدو فروخت کرتے ہوئے دیکھو تو کہہ دو : اللہ تیری تجارت میں نفع نہ دے اور جب تم کسی کو دیکھو کہ وہ گم شدہ چیز کا مسجد میں اعلان کررہا ہے تو کہہ دو : اللہ تیری چیز تجھے واپس نہ کرے۔
(4345) Hazrat Abu Huraira (RA) Nabi (SAW) se naql farmate hain ki jab tum kisi ko masjid mein khareed o farokht karte huye dekho to keh do: Allah teri tijarat mein nafa na de aur jab tum kisi ko dekho ki wo gumshuda cheez ka masjid mein elan kar raha hai to keh do: Allah teri cheez tujhe wapas na kare.
Saib bin Yazid reported: I was sleeping in the mosque when a person hit me with a pebble. I looked up, it was Umar bin Khattab. He said, "Go and bring those two men to me." So, I brought them. Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) asked, "Where are you both from?" They replied, "From Taif." Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "If you were from this city, I would have punished you. You are raising your voices in the mosque of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)."

(٤٣٤٦) سائب بن یزید فرماتے ہیں : میں مسجد میں سویا ہوا تھا، ایک شخص نے مجھے کنکری ماری۔ میں نے دیکھا، وہ عمر بن خطاب تھے۔ فرمانے لگے : جاؤ ان دو آدمیوں کو میرے پاس لے کر آؤ، میں لے کر آیا، حضرت عمر (رض) نے پوچھا : تم دونوں کہاں کے رہنے والے ہو ؟ انھوں نے کہا : طائف کے۔ حضرت عمر (رض) فرمانے لگے : اگر تم اس شہر کے ہوتے تو میں تم کو سزا دیتا، تم نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی مسجد میں آواز کو بلند کر رہے ہو۔
Saeed bin Yazeed farmate hain : main masjid mein soya hua tha, ek shakhs ne mujhe kankari maari. Maine dekha, woh Umar bin Khattab the. Farmane lage : jao in do admiyon ko mere paas lekar aao, main lekar aaya, Hazrat Umar (RA) ne poocha : tum donon kahan ke rehne wale ho? Unhon ne kaha : Taif ke. Hazrat Umar (RA) farmane lage : agar tum is shehar ke hote to main tum ko saza deta, tum Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ki masjid mein aawaz ko buland kar rahe ho.
(4347) Amr bin Shu'aib, on his father's authority, and he on his grandfather's authority reported that the Prophet (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade the recitation of poetry in the mosque.

(٤٣٤٧) عمرو بن شعیب اپنے باپ سے اور وہ اپنے دادا سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے مسجد میں اشعار پڑھنے سے منع کیا ہے۔
(4347) Amr bin Shoaib apne baap se aur wo apne dada se naql farmate hain ki Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne masjid mein ashaar padhne se mana kiya hai.
Amr bin Shu'aib, on his father's authority, and he on his grandfather's (meaning the Prophet), reported with an addition: The Prophet (ﷺ) forbade announcing lost property in the mosque and transacting business in it.

(٤٣٤٨) عمرو بن شعیب اپنے باپ سے اور وہ اپنے دادا سے نقل فرماتے ہیں اور کچھ اضافہ بھی کرتے ہیں کہ مسجد میں گم شدہ چیز کا اعلان کرنے اور خریدو فروخت سے نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے منع فرمایا ہے۔
(4348) Amr bin Shuaib apne baap se aur wo apne dada se naqal farmate hain aur kuchh izafa bhi karte hain ki masjid mein gumshuda cheez ka elaan karne aur kharido farokht se Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne mana farmaya hai.
(4349) Sa'eed bin Musayyab narrates that Hassan bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) was reciting poetry in the mosque. Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) passed by him, looked at him intently, and said: "What, in the mosque?" Hassan bin Thabit replied, "I used to recite poetry at a time when there was someone better than you present, that is, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)." ...The narrator says that he feared that this matter might be attributed to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) gave him permission and left him...
(b) Hassan bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the people, among whom was Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him), "I swear to you by Allah, did you (may Allah be pleased with you) hear the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say, 'Answer Quraysh on my behalf, may Allah help you through Gabriel'?"
(c) Imam Zuhri (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "Just as Hassan bin Thabit used to recite poetry in defense of Islam and Muslims, it is permissible to do so in the mosque and everywhere else."

(٤٣٤٩) سعید بن مسیب فرماتے ہیں کہ حسان بن ثابت (رض) مسجد میں شعر پڑھ رہے تھے۔ حضرت عمر (رض) ان کے پاس سے گزرے تو ان کو تیز نظروں سے دیکھا اور فرمایا : کیا مسجد میں ؟ حضرت حسان بن ثابت کہنے لگے : میں اس وقت اشعار پڑھا کرتا تھا جب آپ (رض) سے بہتر موجود تھے یعنی نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ۔۔۔ راوی کہتے ہیں کہ وہ ڈرے کہ یہ بات نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے ذمہ لگا دے گا۔ حضرت عمر (رض) نے ان کو اجازت دی اور چھوڑ دیا۔۔۔
(ب) حضرت حسان بن ثابت (رض) نے لوگوں سے پوچھا، ان میں ابوہریرہ (رض) بھی موجود تھے کہ میں تمہیں اللہ کی قسم دیتا ہوں کیا آپ (رض) نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو فرماتے ہوئے سنا کہ میری جانب سے قریش کو جواب دو ، اللہ آپ کی مدد فرمائے جبرائیل کے ذریعے۔
(ج) امام زہری (رح) فرماتے ہیں : جس طرح حضرت حسان بن ثابت اسلام اور مسلمانوں کے دفاع میں اشعار پڑھتے تھے، مسجد میں اور مسجد کے علاوہ ہر جگہ جائز ہے۔
(4349) Saeed bin Musayyab farmate hain ki Hassan bin Thabit (RA) masjid mein sher parh rahe the. Hazrat Umar (RA) un ke pass se guzre to un ko tez nazron se dekha aur farmaya : kya masjid mein ? Hazrat Hassan bin Thabit kahne lage : mein us waqt ashaar parha karta tha jab aap (RA) se behtar maujood the yani Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ... Ravi kahte hain ki wo dare ki ye baat Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke zimma laga dega. Hazrat Umar (RA) ne un ko ijazat di aur chhor diya...
(b) Hazrat Hassan bin Thabit (RA) ne logon se poocha, un mein Abu Hurairah (RA) bhi maujood the ki mein tumhen Allah ki qasam deta hon kya aap (RA) ne Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko farmate huye suna ki meri taraf se Quresh ko jawab do , Allah aap ki madad farmaye Jibraeel ke zariye.
(j) Imam Zuhri (RA) farmate hain : jis tarah Hazrat Hassan bin Thabit Islam aur Musalmanon ke difa mein ashaar parhte the, masjid mein aur masjid ke ilawa har jagah jaiz hai.
