Chapter: Evidence That Supplication in the Khutbah Is Obligatory
باب ما يستدل به على أنه يدعو في خطبته
Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 5774
Amr bin Rabi'ah saw Bishr bin Marwan raising both his hands (in prayer) and said, "May Allah spoil both his hands! I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) raising them only this much," and he pointed with his index finger.

(٥٧٧٤) عمارہ بن رویبہ نے بشر بن مروان کو دیکھا، وہ اپنے ہاتھ اٹھائے ہوئے تھے، کہنے لگے : اللہ ان دونوں ہاتھوں کا برا کرے۔ میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو دیکھا، وہ اس سے زائد نہیں کرتے تھے اور اپنی شہادت والی انگلی سے اشارہ کیا۔
Ammarah bin Rueeba ne Bashar bin Marwan ko dekha woh apne hath uthaye hue they kehne lage Allah in donon hathon ka bura kare main ne Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko dekha woh is se ziyada nahi karte they aur apni shahadat wali ungli se ishara kiya
'Amr b. Rabi' reported that he saw Bishr b. Marwan on the pulpit raising both of his hands for supplication on Friday and said: Look towards him, may Allah curse him, and then said: I saw the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) and he did not do more than this, and he pointed out with his forefinger (the one next to the little finger).

(٥٧٧٥) عمارۃ بن روبیہ فرماتے ہیں کہ اس نے بشر بن مروان کو منبر پر جمعہ کے دن دعا کے لیے ہاتھ بلندکیے ہوئے دیکھاتو فرمایا : اس کی طرف دیکھو اور اس کو گالی دی ، پھر فرمایا : میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو دیکھا ہے ، آپ وہ اس سے زیادہ نہیں کرتے تھے اور اپنی شہادت والی انگلی سے اشارہ کیا۔
5775 Umarah bin Rubiah farmate hain ki usne Bashar bin Marwan ko mimbar par juma ke din dua ke liye hath buland kiye hue dekha to farmaya iski taraf dekho aur isko gali di phir farmaya maine Rasul Allah SAW ko dekha hai aap wo is se ziada nahi karte the aur apni shahadat wali ungli se ishara kiya
(5776) (a) Narrated by Ibn Abi Zabaab from Sahl bin Sa'd, that he never saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) raise his hands while supplicating on the pulpit or other than the pulpit, but he saw him doing like this and he pointed with the index finger and made a circle with the thumb.
(b) The purpose of both hadiths is proof of supplication in the sermon and this Sunnah, but during the sermon, it is to point, not to raise the hands.
(c) Anas bin Malik narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not raise his hands for supplication. Only for the sake of asking for rain, the whiteness of his armpits would become apparent.
(d) Zuhri states that when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would deliver the Friday sermon, he would point with his finger for supplication and the people would say Amen.

(٥٧٧٦) (الف) ابن أبی ذباب سھل بن سعد سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو کبھی نہیں دیکھا کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے منبر پر یا منبر کے علاوہ دعا کرتے ہوئے اپنے ہاتھ بلند کیے ہوں بلکہ میں نے دیکھا کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اس طرح کرتے تھے اور شہادت والی انگلی سے اشارہ کیا وسطیٰ اور انگوٹھے کی گرہ لگائی۔
(ب) دونوں احادیث کا مقصد خطبہ میں دعا کا ثبوت اور یہ سنت ہے، لیکن خطبہ کے دوران اشارہ کرنا ہے ، ہاتھوں کو نہیں اٹھانا۔
(ج) انس بن مالک نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے دعا کے لیے ہاتھ بلند نہیں کیے۔ صرف بارش کی طلب کے لیے تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی بغلوں کی سفیدی ظاہر ہوجاتی تھی۔
(د) زہری بیان کرتے ہیں کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) جمعہ کا خطبہ ارشاد فرماتے تو دعا کے لیے انگلی کا اشارہ فرماتے اور لوگ آمین کہتے۔
(5776) (alif) Ibn Abi Zibab Sahl bin Saad se naqal farmate hain ke maine Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko kabhi nahi dekha ke aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne mimbar par ya mimbar ke ilawa dua karte hue apne hath buland kiye hon balke maine dekha ke aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) is tarah karte the aur shahadat wali ungli se ishara kiya wusta aur ungoothe ki girah lagai.
(be) Donon ahadees ka maqsad khutba mein dua ka saboot aur ye sunnat hai, lekin khutba ke doran ishara karna hai, hathon ko nahi uthana.
(jeem) Anas bin Malik Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) se naqal farmate hain ke Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne dua ke liye hath buland nahi kiye. Sirf barish ki talab ke liye to aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ki baghlon ki safedi zahir hojati thi.
(daal) Zuhri bayan karte hain ke Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) jumma ka khutba irshad farmate to dua ke liye ungli ka ishara farmate aur log ameen kahte.
