Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Beware of excessive suspicion, for suspicion is the worst of false tales. Do not spy on one another, nor envy one another, nor compete with one another, nor hate one another, nor turn away from one another. Be, O slaves of Allah, as brothers."

(١٧٦٢٢) حضرت ابوہریرہ فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : بہت زیادہ گمان سے بچو ، بیشک گمان جھوٹی بات ہے۔ نہ جاسوسی کرو نہ کسی کی ٹوہ لگاؤ اور نہ کسی سے مقابلہ کرو۔ نہ حسد کرو اور نہ بغض کرو اور نہ ایک دوسرے سے منہ موڑو اور اللہ کے بندو ! بھائی بھائی ہو جاؤ۔
(17622) Hazrat Abu Huraira farmate hain ki Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya : bohat ziada guman se bacho, beshak guman jhooti baat hai. Na jasosi karo na kisi ki toh lagao aur na kisi se muqabla karo. Na hasad karo aur na bughz karo aur na ek dusre se munh moro aur Allah ke bando! bhai bhai ho jao.
Muawiya said: I heard from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) who said: "If you go about looking for the faults of the people, you will ruin them or you will try to ruin them." Abu Darda used to say that Muawiya (may Allah be pleased with him) heard this saying from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), so Allah benefited him with it.

(١٧٦٢٣) حضرت معاویہ کہتے ہیں : میں نے نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے سنا، فرمایا : ” اگر تو لوگوں کے عیب تلاش کرتا پھرے گا تو تو نے ان کو برباد کردیا یا ان کو خراب کرنے کی کوشش کی۔ “ ابو درداء کہتے تھے کہ معاویہ (رض) نے نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے یہ کلمہ سنا کہ اللہ نے اسے اس کے ساتھ نفع دیا۔
(17623) Hazrat Muawiya kehte hain : maine Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) se suna, farmaya : ” Agar tum logon ke aib talaash karta phiray ga to tumne unko barbaad kardiya ya unko kharab karne ki koshish ki. “ Abu Darda kehte thay ki Muawiya (RA) ne Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) se yeh kalma suna ki Allah ne use iske sath nafa diya.
Abu Umama narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) that when an Imam starts looking for the faults of the people, he will corrupt them.

(١٧٦٢٤) ابو امامہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ جب امام لوگوں کے عیب تلاش کرنے لگے گا تو انھیں خراب کر دے گا۔
(17624) abu imama nabi (sallallahu alaihi wa aalihi wa sallam) se naql farmate hain ki jab imam logon ke aib talaash karne lagega to unhen kharab kar dega.
'Abdur-Rahman bin 'Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that one night he was patrolling Madinah with 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) when they saw a lamp lit in a house. When they reached the door of the house, they heard loud, obscene voices. 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) held my hand and said, "Do you know whose house this is?" I replied, "No." He said, "It is the house of Rabi'ah ibn Umayya ibn Khalaf. He is drinking alcohol right now. What do you think we should do?" 'Abdur-Rahman said, "We have committed what Allah has forbidden, {And spy not} [Al-Hujurat 12]. We have spied on him." So 'Umar returned and left them.

(١٧٦٢٥) عبدالرحمن بن عوف (رض) کہتے ہیں کہ ایک رات میں حضرت عمر (رض) کے ساتھ مدینہ میں پہرہ دے رہا تھا تو ہم نے ایک گھر میں چراغ کی روشنی دیکھی۔ جب ہم گھر کے دروازے کے درمیان میں پہنچے تو ان کی آواز بلند اور خراب تھی۔ حضرت عمر نے میرا ہاتھ پکڑا اور کہا : جانتے ہو کس کا گھر ہے ؟ میں نے کہا : نہیں فرمایا : ربیعہ بن امیہ بن خلف کا۔ وہ اس وقت شراب پی رہے ہیں۔ آپ کی کیا رائے ہے، کیا کیا جائے ؟ تو عبدالرحمن نے کہا : ہم نے اللہ کی منع کردہ چیز کا ارتکاب کیا ہے، { وَلَا تَجَسَّسُوْا } [الحجرات ١٢] ہم نے جاسوسی کی ہے تو حضرت عمر واپس آگئے اور انھیں چھوڑ دیا۔
(17625) Abdur Rahman bin Auf (RA) kehte hain ki aik raat main Hazrat Umar (RA) ke sath Madina mein pahra de raha tha to hum ne aik ghar mein chirag ki roshni dekhi. Jab hum ghar ke darwaze ke darmiyan mein pahunche to un ki awaz buland aur kharab thi. Hazrat Umar ne mera hath pakra aur kaha: Jante ho kis ka ghar hai? Main ne kaha: Nahin. Farmaya: Rabiyah bin Umayya bin Khalaf ka. Wo us waqt sharab pi rahe hain. Aap ki kya rai hai, kya kiya jaye? To Abdur Rahman ne kaha: Hum ne Allah ki mana karda cheez ka irtikab kiya hai, {wala tajassasoo} [Al-Hujrat 12] Hum ne jasosi ki hai to Hazrat Umar wapas aa gaye aur unhen chhor diya.
Zaid bin Wahb narrated that Abdullah was told that wine was dripping from the beard of so-and-so. (The people asked) "Did you see it?" He said: "Allah has forbidden us from spying, (so) when it becomes apparent, we will punish him."

(١٧٦٢٦) زید بن وہب کہتے ہیں کہ حضرت عبداللہ کو کہا گیا کہ فلاں کی داڑھی سے شراب ٹپک رہی تھی۔ آپ نے دیکھا ؟ فرمایا : اللہ نے ہمیں جاسوسی سے منع کیا ہے جب ظاہر ہوگا تو پکڑ لیں گے۔
Zaid bin Wahab kahte hain ki Hazrat Abdullah ko kaha gaya ki falan ki darhi se sharaab tapk rahi thi. Aap ne dekha? Farmaya: Allah ne hamen jasoosi se mana kia hai jab zahir hoga to pakad lenge.
