Chapter: One who says to his slave: 'You are free upon you are obligated to pay one hundred dinars, or serve for a year, or work in such a way,' and the slave accepts, is he manumitted based on that?
باب: من قال: لعبده: أنت حر على أن عليك مائة دينار، أو خدمة سنة، أو عمل كذا، فقبل العبد، أيعتق على ذلك؟
Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 21426
Safinah narrated that Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "I am setting you free but on one condition that you will serve the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) for the rest of your life." I said: "Even if you did not make it a condition, I would never have parted from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in my life." But she made it a condition, so I served the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) until his death.

(٢١٤٢٦) سفینہ فرماتے ہیں کہ ام سلمہ (رض) نے کہا : میں تجھے آزاد کرتی ہوں لیکن میری ایک شرط ہے کہ تو زندگی بھر رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی خدمت کرے گا۔ میں نے کہا : اگر آپ شرط نہ بھی لگائیں، تب بھی میں اپنی زندگی میں رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے جدا نہ ہوتا، لیکن انھوں نے شرط لگا دی کہ میں اپنی موت تک رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی خدمت کروں۔
(21426) safina farmate hain ke umm salma (rz) ne kaha : mein tujhe azad karti hun lekin meri ek shart hai ke tu zindagi bhar rasool allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ki khidmat kare ga. maine kaha : agar aap shart na bhi lagaen, tab bhi mein apni zindagi mein rasool allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) se juda na hota, lekin unhon ne shart laga di ke mein apni maut tak rasool allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ki khidmat karoon.
Umm Salama's slave Safina reported: Umm Salama set me free and stipulated that I should serve the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, as long as I live.

(٢١٤٢٧) ام سلمہ کے غلام سفینہ فرماتے ہیں کہ ام سلمہ نے مجھے آزاد کردیا اور شرط رکھی کہ میں اپنی زندگی ساری نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو خدمت کروں۔
Umme Salma ke ghulam Safeena farmate hain ke Umme Salma ne mujhe azad kar diya aur shart rakhi ke mein apni zindagi sari Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko khidmat karoon.
**(21428)** It is narrated from Aqabah from Naafi' that Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) freed a slave, then he stipulated with him that he would work for him for one year.
The Judge (may Allah have mercy on him) said: After some years had passed, Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) came for Hajj or Umrah, so he said: I have waived my condition, you are free, you are not obligated to work. [Sahih].

(٢١٤٢٨) عقبہ نافع سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ عبداللہ بن عمر (رض) نے ایک غلام آزاد کیا، پھر اس پر شرط لگائی کہ وہ ایک سال تک ان کا کام کرے گا۔
قاضی (رح) فرماتے ہیں : کچھ سال گزارتوعبداللہ حج یا عمرہ کیعزض سے تشریف لائے تو فرمایا : میں نے اپنی شرط چھوڑ دی، آپ آزاد ہیں، آپ کے ذمہ کام نہیں ہے۔ [صحیح ]
21428 Aqba Nafe se naql farmate hain keh Abdullah bin Umar (RA) ne aik ghulam azad kiya phir uss par shart lagayi keh woh aik saal tak unka kaam karega. Qazi (RA) farmate hain: Kuch saal guzar to Abdullah Hajj ya Umrah ki gharz se tashreef laye to farmaya: Main ne apni shart chhor di, aap azad hain, aap ke zimme kaam nahin hai. [Sahih].
Nafi' said: Ibn Umar sent me on an errand. When I returned after finishing it, he said: You are free to go, but you will stay with us, and we will stay with you. I said: Where shall I go, and for whose sake should I go?

(٢١٤٢٩) نافع فرماتی ہیں کہ ابن عمر نے مجھے کسی کام کے لیے بھیجا ۔ میں کام سے فارغ ہو کر آیا تو مجھے کہنے لگے : آپ آزاد ہیں، لیکن تو ہمارے پاس ہی رہے گا، اور ہم تیرے پاس۔ میں نے کہا : میں کہا جاؤں اور کس کیپ اس جاؤں ۔
(21429) Nafe farmate hain ki Ibn Umar ne mujhe kisi kaam ke liye bheja. Main kaam se farigh ho kar aaya to mujhe kehne lage: Aap azad hain, lekin tu hamare paas hi rahega, aur hum tere paas. Maine kaha: Main kaha jaoon aur kis ke paas jaoon.
