Chapter: Those Who Said: Recitation Is Done Silently During a Solar Eclipse
باب من قال: يسر بالقراءة في خسوف الشمس
Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 6340
Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: When a solar eclipse occurred, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) led the people in prayer. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stood for a long time, reciting Surah Al-Baqarah. In the narration of Abu Musaab, it is stated that he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) recited like the recitation of Surah Al-Baqarah. Imam Shafi'i (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "This indicates that they did not hear the Prophet's (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) recitation. If they had heard it, they would not have estimated it based on anything else."

(٦٣٤٠) ابن عباس (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ سورج گرہن لگا تو نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے نماز پڑھی اور لوگ آپ کے ساتھ تھے۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے سورة بقرہ کی قراءت کے بقدر لمبا قیام کیا اور ابو مصعب کی روایت میں ہے کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے سورة بقرہ کی مانند تلاوت کی۔ امام شافعی (رح) فرماتے ہیں : یہ اس بات پر دلیل ہے کہ انھوں نے آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی قراءت کو نہیں سنا۔ اگر انھوں نے سنا ہوتا تو وہ اس کے علاوہ کسی دوسری چیز کا اندازہ نہ کرتے۔
(6340) ibne abbas (rz) farmate hain ke sooraj grahan laga to nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne namaz parhi aur log aap ke sath thay. aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne sura baqra ki qirat ke baqadr lamba qayam kiya aur abu musab ki riwayat mein hai ke aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne sura baqra ki manind tilawat ki. imam shafi (rh) farmate hain : ye us baat par daleel hai ke unhon ne aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ki qirat ko nahi suna. agar unhon ne suna hota to woh is ke alawa kisi dusri cheez ka andazah na karte.
'Ikrimah reported on the authority of Ibn 'Abbas (Allah be pleased with them) that the Prophet (ﷺ) observed the eclipse prayer. We did not hear his voice.

(٦٣٤١) عکرمہ ابن عباس (رض) سینقل فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے نمازِ کسوف پڑھائی۔ ہم نے آپ کی آواز کو نہیں سنا۔
6341 ikrima ibne abbas (rz) say نقل formatay hain kay nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) nay namaz kasoof parhaayi hum nay aap ki aawaz ko nahi suna
Tha'laba, who is from Banu 'Abd al-Qays, reported on the authority of Sumrah ibn Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) that he described the Prophet's (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayer during a solar eclipse. He said: “The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came forward and led us in prayer. We were with him. He stood for a long time, as he usually did in his prayers. We did not hear his voice. He bowed as long as he usually did. Again, we did not hear his voice. Then he did the same in the second rak'ah.”

(٦٣٤٢) ثعلبہ جو بنو عبد القیس سے ہیں، جو سمرہ بن جندب (رض) سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ انھوں نے اپنے خطبہ میں نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی نماز خسوف کے متعلق بیان کیا۔ فرماتے ہیں کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) آگے بڑھے اور لوگوں کو نماز پڑھائی، ہم بھی آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے ساتھ تھے۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے لمبا قیام کیا جیسا کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اپنی نمازوں میں کیا کرتے تھے۔ ہم نے آپ کی آواز کو نہ سنا۔ آپ نے اتنا لمبا رکوع جتنا کہ آپ کیا کرتے تھے۔ پھر بھی ہم نے آپ کی آواز کو نہ سنا۔ پھر آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے دوسری رکعت میں بھی اس طرح کیا۔
6342 Salabah jo Banu Abd al-Qais se hain, jo Samrah bin Jundub (RA) se naql farmate hain ki unhon ne apne khutbah mein Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ki namaz khusuf ke mutalliq bayan kiya. Farmate hain ki aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) aage barhe aur logon ko namaz parhaayi, hum bhi aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke sath the. Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne lamba qayam kiya jaisa ki aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) apni namaazon mein karte the. Hum ne aap ki aawaz ko na suna. Aap ne itna lamba ruku jitana ki aap karte the. Phir bhi hum ne aap ki aawaz ko na suna. Phir aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne dusri rakat mein bhi is tarah kiya.
'Urwa reported from A'isha (may Allah be pleased with her) that during the lifetime of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) the sun eclipsed, so he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went out and led the people in prayer. I estimated his recitation, I saw that he recited Surah Al-Baqarah, then he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performed two prostrations, then he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stood up and recited a long recitation. I estimated his recitation and I thought that he recited Surah Al-Imran.'

(٦٣٤٣) عروۃ حضرت عائشہ (رض) سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے دور میں سورج گرہن لگا، آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نکلے اور لوگوں کو نماز پڑھائی۔ میں نے آپ کی قراءت کا اندازہ کیا، میں نے دیکھا کہ آپ نے سورة بقرہ پڑھی ہے، پھر آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے دو سجدے کیے، پھر آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے قیام کیا اور لمبی قراءت کی۔ میں نے آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی قراءت کا اندازہ کیا تو میں نے خیال کیا کہ آپ نے سورة آل عمران پڑھی ہے۔
6343 Urwa Hazrat Ayesha (RA) se naql farmate hain ke Nabi (SAW) ke dour mein sooraj grahan laga, aap (SAW) nikle aur logon ko namaz parhayi. Main ne aap ki qirat ka andaza kiya, main ne dekha ke aap ne Surah Baqarah parhayi hai, phir aap (SAW) ne do sajday kiye, phir aap (SAW) ne qayam kiya aur lambi qirat ki. Main ne aap (SAW) ki qirat ka andaza kiya to main ne khayal kiya ke aap ne Surah Al-Imran parhayi hai.
