Salim bin Ubaid Ashja'i said: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) passed away, the most distraught of all the people was Umar bin Khattab, and he said to Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him): "O companion of the Messenger of Allah! Has the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) passed away?" He said: "Yes, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) has passed away." So he said: "O companion of the Messenger of Allah! Who will bathe him (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)?" So he said: "Those closest to him from the people of his house." Then the people said: "O possessor of the Messenger of Allah! Where will he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) be buried?" So he said: "Bury him (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in the place where his soul was taken. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was taken from his most beloved place."

(٦٦٥٦) (سالم بن عبید اشجعی کہتے ہیں : جب رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) فوت ہوگئے تو سب لوگوں میں سے زیادہ گھبرانے والے عمربن خطاب تھے اور انھوں نے ابوبکر (رض) سے کہا : اے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے ساتھی ! کیا رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) وفات پا گئے ہیں تو انھوں نے کہا : ہاں رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) فوت ہوگئے ہیں تو انھوں نے کہا : اے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے ساتھی ! آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو غسل کون دے گا ؟ تو انھوں نے کہا : آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے گھر کے جو قریبی افراد ہیں۔ پھر لوگوں نے کہا : اے صاحب رسول اللہ ! آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو کہاں دفن کیا جائے گا تو انھوں نے کہا : آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو اسی جگہ پر دفن کرو جہاں آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی روح قبض کی گئی۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو آپ کی محبوب جگہ میں قبض کیا گیا۔
6656 Salim bin Ubaid Ashjai kahte hain : Jab Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) فوت ہوگئے تو سب لوگوں میں سے زیادہ گھبرانے والے Umar bin Khattab the aur unhon ne Abu Bakr (RA) se kaha : Aye Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke sathi ! Kia Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) wafat pa gaye hain to unhon ne kaha : Haan Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) فوت ہوگئے hain to unhon ne kaha : Aye Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke sathi ! Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko ghusl kon de ga ? To unhon ne kaha : Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke ghar ke jo qareebi afrad hain. Phir logon ne kaha : Aye sahib Rasul Allah ! Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko kahan dafan kia jaye ga to unhon ne kaha : Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko usi jagah par dafan karo jahan Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ki rooh qabz ki gayi. Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko Aap ki mahboob jagah mein qabz kia gaya.
Muhammad bin Ali said: You (the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him) were given a bath with sidr three times and you were given a bath while wearing a shirt. You were given a bath with the water from the well of Ghurs which belonged to Sa'd bin Khaithamah; you used to drink its water. Ali was assigned the task of your purification, Fadl was assigned the task of your burial, Abbas was pouring the water, and Fadl was saying: Let me be at peace, for you have cut my aorta. I do not find anything with which to refresh you.

(٦٦٥٧) محمد بن علی کہتے ہیں : آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو تین مرتبہ بیری کے ساتھ غسل دیا گیا اور آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو غسل دیا گیا اس حال میں کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) پر قمیض تھی اور آپ کو قباء کے کنویں غرس کے پانی سے غسل دیا گیا جو سعد بن خثیمہ کا تھا۔ آپ اس کا پانی پیا کرتے تھے۔ آپ کی طہارت و صفائی علی کے حصے آئی اور قبر (تدفین) فضل کے حصے اور عباس پانی بہا رہے تھے اور فضل کہہ رہے تھے : مجھے سکون دو تم نے تو میری شہ رگ کاٹ دی۔ میں کوئی چیز نہیں پاتا جس کے ساتھ میں اپنے کو ترو تازہ کروں۔
6657 Muhammad bin Ali kahte hain : Aap ko teen martaba beri ke sath ghusl diya gaya aur aap ko ghusl diya gaya is hal mein ke aap par qameez thi aur aap ko qaba ke kuen gharas ke pani se ghusl diya gaya jo Saad bin Khatima ka tha. Aap is ka pani piya karte the. Aap ki taharat o safai Ali ke hisse aai aur qabar fazl ke hisse aur Abbas pani baha rahe the aur fazl kah rahe the : mujhe sukoon do tumne to meri shah rag kaat di. Main koi cheez nahin pata jis ke sath main apne ko taro taza karoon.
Narrated Aisha (RA): The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Whoever takes charge of the washing of a deceased person should fulfill this trust, i.e. conceal what he sees of his defects, for he will become pure from his sins as if he was born this day from the womb of his mother." The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "His guardian should be his nearest relative, if he knows (how to perform the washing). If his nearest relative does not know (how to perform the washing), then it should be a man whom you know will fulfill his trust."

(٦٦٥٨) سیدہ عائشہ (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : جو کوئی میت کے غسل کا سرپرست بنے اسے چاہیے اس امانت کو ادا کرے، یعنی اس کی پردہ پوشی کرے جو اس میں ہے۔ وہ اپنے گناہوں سے اس طرح پاک ہوجائے گا گویا اس کی ماں نے اسے آج جنم دیا ہے۔ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : چاہیے کہ اس کا ذمہ دار اس کا قریبی ہو۔ اگر وہ جانتا ہے۔ اگر اس کا قریبی نہیں جانتا تو پھر وہ شخص جس کے متعلق تم جانتا ہو کہ وہ اس کی امانت داری کا خیال رکھے گا۔
Sayyida Ayesha (RA) se riwayat hai ki Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Jo koi mayyat ke ghusl ka sarparast bane use chahiye is amanat ko ada kare, yani us ki pardah poshi kare jo is mein hai. Woh apne gunahon se is tarah pak ho jaye ga goya us ki maan ne use aaj janam diya hai. Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Chahiye ki us ka zimma daar us ka qareebi ho. Agar woh janta hai. Agar us ka qareebi nahin janta to phir woh shakhs jis ke mutalliq tum janta ho ki woh us ki amanat dari ka khayal rakhe ga.
