Yarfa Ghulam said: Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) said to me, "I have kept myself in relation to the public treasury like the guardian of an orphan. If I perform Hajj, I take from it. If I am well-off, I return it, and if I am in need, I benefit from it."

(١٣٠١١) یرفاء غلام کہتے ہیں : مجھے عمر بن خطاب (رض) نے فرمایا : میں نے اپنے آپ کو بیت المال میں ایسے رکھا ہے جیسے یتیم کا والی ہوتا ہے، اگر میں حج کرتا ہوں تو اس سے لے لیتا ہوں۔ جب میں آسانی میں ہوتا ہوں تو لوٹا دیتا ہوں اور اگر میں اس سے بے پروا ہوں تو اس سے بچ جاتا ہوں۔
13011 Yurfa Ghulam kahte hain : mujhe Umar bin Khattab (raz) ne farmaya : maine apne aap ko baitul mal mein aise rakha hai jaise yatim ka wali hota hai, agar mein Hajj karta hun to us se le leta hun. Jab mein asani mein hota hun to lota deta hun aur agar mein us se be parwah hun to us se bach jata hun.
١٣٠١١ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو نَصْرِ بْنُ قَتَادَةَ، أنا أَبُو مَنْصُورٍ الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ النَّضْرَوِيُّ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ نَجْدَةَ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، ثنا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ،عَنِ الْيَرْفَأِ قَالَ:قَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ:" إِنِّي أَنْزَلْتُ نَفْسِي مِنْ مَالِ اللهِ بِمَنْزِلَةِ وَالِي الْيَتِيمِ، إِنِ احْتَجْتُ أَخَذْتُ مِنْهُ، فَإِذَا أَيْسَرْتُ رَدَدْتُهُ، وَإِنِ اسْتَغْنَيْتُ اسْتَعْفَفْتُ "
