Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 3399
Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent him on an errand. When he returned, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was praying. He greeted him (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), but he did not respond to his greeting and gestured with his hand. Then, when he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) finished the prayer, he said: "I would have certainly responded to your greeting, but I was in prayer."

(٣٣٩٩) حضرت جابر (رض) بیان کرتے ہیں کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے انھیں اپنی کسی ضرورت کے لیے بھیجا۔ وہ واپس آئے تو رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نماز پڑھ رہے تھے۔ انھوں نے آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو سلام کیا تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے سلام کا جواب نہ دیا اور اپنے ہاتھ سے اشارہ کیا۔ پھر جب آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے نماز سے سلام پھیرا تو فرمایا : میں تمہارے سلام کا جواب ضرور دیتا مگر میں نماز میں تھا۔
Hazrat Jabir (RA) bayan karte hain ke Nabi (SAW) ne unhen apni kisi zaroorat ke liye bheja. Wo wapas aaye to Rasul Allah (SAW) namaz parh rahe the. Unhon ne aap (SAW) ko salam kiya to aap (SAW) ne salam ka jawab na diya aur apne hath se ishara kiya. Phir jab aap (SAW) ne namaz se salam phera to farmaya: mein tumhare salam ka jawab zaroor deta magar mein namaz mein tha.
٣٣٩٩ - أَخْبَرَنَاهُ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ الْمُقْرِئُ، أنبأ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، ثنا يُوسُفُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الْقَاضِي، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ،أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعَثَهُ إِلَى حَاجَةٍ لَهُ فَجَاءَ وَالنَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي فَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْهِ فَلَمْ يَرُدَّ عَلَيْهِ وَأَوْمَأَ بِيَدِهِ فَلَمَّا سَلَّمَ قَالَ:" إِنَّهُ لَمْ يَمْنَعْنِي أَنْ أَرُدَّ عَلَيْكَ إِلَّا أَنِّي كُنْتُ أُصَلِّي "
