Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 4458
Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard Sa'eed bin Musayyab say that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayed Witr, but it is not obligatory for you. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayed Chasht, but it is not obligatory for you. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) offered sacrifice, but it is not obligatory for you. You (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayed before Zuhr, but it is not obligatory for you. Qatadah said: I said: These are the things that are conveyed in addition to Witr. He said: O people of the Quran! Pray Witr. Verily, Allah is Witr (One) and He loves Witr.

(٤٤٥٨) قتادہ (رح) سے روایت ہے کہ میں نے سعید بن مسیب سے سنا کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے وتر پڑھا اور تجھ پر یہ فرض نہیں ہے۔ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے چاشت کی نماز پڑھی اور تجھ پر یہ فرض نہیں۔ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے قربانی کی اور تجھ پر فرض نہیں ۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ظہر سے پہلے نماز پڑھی اور تجھ پر فرض نہیں۔ قتادہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے کہا : یہ وہ چیزیں ہیں جن کو وتر کے علاوہ پہنچانا جاتا ہے۔ فرماتے ہیں کہ اے اہل قرآن ! تم وتر پڑھو۔ اللہ تعالیٰ وتر ہے اور وتر کو پسند کرتا ہے۔
Qatadah (rh) se riwayat hai ki main ne Saeed bin Musayyab se suna ki Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne witr parha aur tujh par ye farz nahi hai. Rasulullah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne chast ki namaz parha aur tujh par ye farz nahi. Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne qurbani ki aur tujh par farz nahi. Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne zuhr se pehle namaz parha aur tujh par farz nahi. Qatadah kehte hain ki main ne kaha: ye wo cheezain hain jin ko witr ke alawa pahunchaya jata hai. Faramate hain ki aye ahl e Quran! tum witr parha. Allah ta'ala witr hai aur witr ko pasand karta hai.
٤٤٥٨ - أنبأ الشَّيْخُ أَبُو الْفَتْحِ الْعُمَرِيُّ، أنبأ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ الشُّرَيْحِيُّ، أنبأ أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ الْبَغَوِيُّ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْجَعْدِ، أنبأ شُعْبَةُ،عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَالَ:سَمِعْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ الْمُسَيِّبِ يَقُولُ: أَوْتَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَلَيْسَ عَلَيْكَ، وَضَحَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَلَيْسَ عَلَيْكَ، وَصَلَّى الضُّحَى وَلَيْسَ عَلَيْكَ، وَصَلَّى قَبْلَ الظُّهْرِ وَلَيْسَ عَلَيْكَ،وَقَالَ قَتَادَةُ:فَقُلْتُ: هَذَا مَا نَعْرِفُ غَيْرَ الْوِتْرِ قَالَ: إِنَّمَا قَالَ:" يَا أَهْلَ الْقُرْآنِ أَوْتِرُوا؛ فَإِنَّ اللهَ تَعَالَى وِتْرٌ يُحِبُّ الْوِتْرَ "
