Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 864
(864) Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to wash his head with the marshmallow plant when he was in a state of Janabah (major ritual impurity), and this was sufficient, and he did not pour water over it. (b) If this narration is proven authentic, then it is understood that the marshmallow plant was dominant over water, and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to wash his head with the intention of Ghusl (ritual bath) from Janabah.

(٨٦٤) سیدہ عائشہ (رض) فرماتی ہیں کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اپنا سر خطمی بوٹی سے دھوتے تھے جب آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) جنبی ہوتے تھے تو یہی کفایت کرجاتا تھا اور اس پر پانی نہیں بہاتی تھے۔ (ب) یہ روایت اگر ثابت ہو تو اس پر محمول ہے کہ جب خطمی بوٹی پانی پر غالب ہو اور آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اپنا سر غسل جنابت کی نیت سے دھوتے تھے۔

٨٦٤ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الرُّوذْبَارِيُّ، أنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ دَاسَةَ، ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ، ثنا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ سُوَاءَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ" يَغْسِلُ رَأْسَهُ بِالْخِطْمِيِّ وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ يَجْتَزِئُ بِذَلِكَ وَلَا يَصُبُّ عَلَيْهِ الْمَاءَ، وَهَذَا إِنْ ثَبَتَ فَمَحْمُولٌ عَلَى مَا لَوْ كَانَ الْمَاءُ غَالِبًا عَلَى الْخِطْمِيِّ وَكَانَ غَسْلُ رَأْسِهِ بِنِيَّةِ الطَّهَارَةِ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ، وَكَذَلِكَ "
