Chapter: Whosoever sent the weak early (from Al-Muzdalifa to Mina)

باب مَنْ قَدَّمَ ضَعَفَةَ أَهْلِهِ بِلَيْلٍ، فَيَقِفُونَ بِالْمُزْدَلِفَةِ وَيَدْعُونَ وَيُقَدِّمُ إِذَا غَابَ الْقَمَرُ

Sahih al-Bukhari 1676

Salim (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that Abdullah bin Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) used to send the weak among his family early to Mina. So they used to depart from Al-Mash'ar Al-Haram (Muzdalifa) at night (when the moon had set) and pray Allah as much as they could, and then they would return (to Mina) before the Imam had started from Muzdalifa to Mina. So, some of them would reach Mina at the time of the Fajr prayer and some of them would come later. When they reached Mina, they would throw pebbles on the Jamra (Jamrat-Al-Aqaba). Ibn Umar ( رضئهللا تعالی عنہ) used to say, ‘Allah's Apostle (صلى هللا عليه و آله وسلم) gave the permission to them (weak people) to do so.’

حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ وہ اپنے کمزور افراد کو پہلے روانہ کردیتے کہ وہ رات کے وقت مزدلفہ میں وقوف کریں اور جس قدر چاہیں اللہ کا ذکرکریں۔ پھر وہ امام کے وقوف اور اس کے واپس ہونے سے پہلے لوٹ جائیں۔ ان میں سے کچھ تو نماز فجر کے وقت منیٰ پہنچتے اور کچھ اس کے بعد آتے۔ جب وہ سب منیٰ پہنچ جاتے تو جمرے کو کنکریاں مارتے۔ حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر  ؓ فرماتے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ان کے لیے اجازت دی ہے۔

Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (Radi Allahu Anhu) se riwayat hai ke wo apne kamzor afraad ko pehle rawana kar dete ke wo raat ke waqt Muzdalifa mein wuquf karein aur jis qadar chahein Allah ka zikr karein. Phir wo imam ke wuquf aur is ke wapas hone se pehle laut jayein. In mein se kuch to namaz-e-fajr ke waqt Mina pahuchte aur kuch is ke baad aate. Jab wo sab Mina pahuch jate to jamre ko kankriyan marte. Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (Radi Allahu Anhu) farmate ke Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne in ke liye ijazat di hai.

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، قَالَ سَالِمٌ : وَكَانَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا يُقَدِّمُ ضَعَفَةَ أَهْلِهِ ، فَيَقِفُونَ عِنْدَ الْمَشْعَرِ الْحَرَامِ بِالْمُزْدَلِفَةِ بِلَيْلٍ فَيَذْكُرُونَ اللَّهَ مَا بَدَا لَهُمْ ، ثُمَّ يَرْجِعُونَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَقِفَ الْإِمَامُ وَقَبْلَ أَنْ يَدْفَعَ ، فَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَقْدَمُ مِنًى لِصَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ ، وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَقْدَمُ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ ، فَإِذَا قَدِمُوا رَمَوْا الْجَمْرَةَ , وَكَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، يَقُولُ : أَرْخَصَ فِي أُولَئِكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .

Sahih al-Bukhari 1677

Ibn Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) had sent me from Jam' (Al-Muzdalifa) at night.

حضرت ابن عباس ؓ سے روایت ہے، وہ فرماتے ہیں کہ مجھے نبی کریم ﷺ نے رات ہی کے وقت مزدلفہ سے(منیٰ) روانہ کردیاتھا۔

Hazrat Ibn Abbas (Radi Allahu Anhu) se riwayat hai, wo farmate hain ke mujhe Nabi Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne raat hi ke waqt Muzdalifa se (Mina) rawana kar diya tha.

حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : بَعَثَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ جَمْعٍ بِلَيْلٍ .

Sahih al-Bukhari 1678

Ibn Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that he, as among those whom the Prophet ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) sent on the night of Muzdalifa early being among the weak members of his family.

حضرت ابن عباس  ؓ سے روایت ہے، انھوں نے فرمایا کہ میں ان افراد میں سے تھا جنھیں نبی کریم ﷺ نے مزدلفہ کی رات اپنے اہل خانہ کے کمزور افراد کے ہمراہ پہلے بھیج دیا تھا۔

Hazrat Ibn Abbas (Radi Allahu Anhu) se riwayat hai, unhon ne farmaya ke main in afraad mein se tha jinhein Nabi Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne Muzdalifa ki raat apne ahl-e-khana ke kamzor afraad ke hamrah pehle bhej diya tha.

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيٌّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي يَزِيدَ ، سَمِعَ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، يَقُولُ : أَنَا مِمَّنْ قَدَّمَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيْلَةَ الْمُزْدَلِفَةِ فِي ضَعَفَةِ أَهْلِهِ .

Sahih al-Bukhari 1679

Narrated `Abdullah: (the slave of Asma') During the night of Jam', Asma' got down at Al-Muzdalifa and stood up for (offering) the prayer and offered the prayer for some time and then asked, O my son! Has the moon set? I replied in the negative and she again prayed for another period and then asked, Has the moon set? I replied, Yes. So she said that we should set out (for Mina), and we departed and went on till she threw pebbles at the Jamra (Jamrat-Al-`Aqaba) and then she returned to her dwelling place and offered the morning prayer. I asked her, O you! I think we have come (to Mina) early in the night. She replied, O my son! Allah's Apostle gave permission to the women to do so.

عبداللہ مولیٰ اسماء  سے مروی ہے کہ حضرت اسماء بنت ابی بکر  ؓ  مزدلفہ میں رات کے وقت اتریں اور نماز پڑھنے کھڑی ہوگئیں۔ پھر ایک گھڑی تک نماز پرھتی رہیں۔ اس کے بعد پوچھا: بیٹے! کیا چاند غروب ہوگیا ہے؟میں نے کہا: نہیں۔ وہ پھر کچھ دیر تک نماز پڑھتی رہیں پھر دریافت کیا: بیٹے کیا چاند غروب ہوگیا ہے؟اس نے کہا: جی ہاں۔ انھوں نے فرمایا: پھر کوچ کرو۔ چنانچہ ہم روانہ ہوئے یہاں تک کہ حضرت اسماء ؓ نے منیٰ پہنچ کر جمرے کو رمی کی، پھر صبح کی نماز واپس آکر اپنے مقام پر ادا کی۔ میں نے ان سے عرض کیا: بی بی جی!میرے خیال کے مطابق ہم نے جلد بازی سے کام لیا ہے۔ اور تاریکی میں کنکریاں مار دی ہیں۔ حضرت اسماء  ؓ نے جواب دیا: اے پسر من! رسول اللہ ﷺ نے عورتوں کو ایسا کرنے کی اجازت دی ہے۔

Abdullah Maula Asma se marwi hai ke Hazrat Asma bint Abi Bakr (Radi Allahu Anha) Muzdalifa mein raat ke waqt utrein aur namaz parhne khari ho gaein. Phir ek ghari tak namaz parhti rahein. Is ke baad pucha: Bete! Kya chand ghuroob ho gaya hai? Main ne kaha: Nahi. Wo phir kuch der tak namaz parhti rahein phir daryaft kiya: Bete kya chand ghuroob ho gaya hai? Is ne kaha: Ji haan. Unhon ne farmaya: Phir kooch karo. Chunancha hum rawana hue yahan tak ke Hazrat Asma (Radi Allahu Anha) ne Mina pahuch kar jamre ko rami ki, phir subah ki namaz wapas aa kar apne maqam par ada ki. Main ne un se arz kiya: Bibi ji! Mere khayal ke mutabiq hum ne jald-bazi se kaam liya hai aur tareeki mein kankriyan maar di hain. Hazrat Asma (Radi Allahu Anha) ne jawab diya: Ae pisar-e-man! Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne auraton ko aisa karne ki ijazat di hai.

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ مَوْلَى أَسْمَاءَ ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ ، أَنَّهَا نَزَلَتْ لَيْلَةَ جَمْعٍ عِنْدَ الْمُزْدَلِفَةِ , فَقَامَتْ تُصَلِّي ، فَصَلَّتْ سَاعَةً ، ثُمَّ قَالَتْ : يَا بُنَيَّ ، هَلْ غَابَ الْقَمَرُ ؟ قُلْتُ : لَا ، فَصَلَّتْ سَاعَةً ، ثُمَّ قَالَتْ : يَا بُنَيَّ ، هَلْ غَابَ الْقَمَرُ ؟ قُلْت : نَعَمْ ، قَالَتْ : فَارْتَحِلُوا ، فَارْتَحَلْنَا وَمَضَيْنَا حَتَّى رَمَتِ الْجَمْرَةَ ، ثُمَّ رَجَعَتْ فَصَلَّتِ الصُّبْحَ فِي مَنْزِلِهَا ، فَقُلْتُ لَهَا : يَا هَنْتَاهُ ، مَا أُرَانَا إِلَّا قَدْ غَلَّسْنَا ، قَالَتْ : يَا بُنَيَّ ، إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَذِنَ لِلظُّعُنِ .

Sahih al-Bukhari 1680

Narrated `Aisha: Sauda asked the permission of the Prophet to leave earlier at the night of Jam', and she was a fat and very slow woman. The Prophet gave her permission.

حضرت عائشہ ؓ سے روایت ہے، انھوں نے فرمایا کہ حضرت سودہ ؓ  بھاری جسامت والی عورت تھیں۔ انھوں نے رسول اللہ ﷺ سے مزدلفہ کی رات اجازت مانگی تو آپ نے اجازت دے دی۔

Hazrat Aisha (Radi Allahu Anha) se riwayat hai, unhon ne farmaya ke Hazrat Sauda (Radi Allahu Anha) bhaari jasamat wali aurat thin. Unhon ne Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) se Muzdalifa ki raat ijazat maangi to Aap ne ijazat de di.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ هُوَ ابْنُ الْقَاسِمِ ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، قَالَتْ : اسْتَأْذَنَتْ سَوْدَةُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيْلَةَ جَمْعٍ ، وَكَانَتْ ثَقِيلَةً ثَبْطَةً فَأَذِنَ لَهَا .

Sahih al-Bukhari 1681

Narrated `Aisha: We got down at Al-Muzdalifa and Sauda asked the permission of the Prophet to leave (early) before the rush of the people. She was a slow woman and he gave her permission, so she departed (from Al- Muzdalifa) before the rush of the people. We kept on staying at Al-Muzdalifa till dawn, and set out with the Prophet but (I suffered so much that) I wished I had taken the permission of Allah's Apostle as Sauda had done, and that would have been dearer to me than any other happiness.

حضرت عائشہ ؓ سے ہی روایت ہے، انھوں نے فرمایا: ہم مزدلفہ میں اترے تو حضرت سودہ ؓ  نے نبی کریم ﷺ سے اجازت مانگی کہ وہ لوگوں کے ہجوم سے پہلے پہلے منیٰ روانہ ہوجائیں کیونکہ وہ ذرا سست رفتار تھیں۔ آپ ﷺ نے انھیں اجازت دے دی، چنانچہ وہ لوگوں کی بھیڑ سے پہلے ہی نکل کھڑی ہوئیں۔ اور ہم لوگ صبح تک وہیں ٹھہرے رہے اور رسول اللہ ﷺ کے ہمراہ واپس ہوئے۔ کاش! میں نے بھی رسول اللہ ﷺ سے اجازت لی ہوتی جیسا کہ حضرت سودہ  ؓ  نے لی تھی تو یہ میرے لیے زیادہ محبوب اور بہت بڑی خوشی کی بات تھی۔

Hazrat Aisha (Radi Allahu Anha) se hi riwayat hai, unhon ne farmaya: Hum Muzdalifa mein utre to Hazrat Sauda (Radi Allahu Anha) ne Nabi Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) se ijazat maangi ke wo logon ke hujoom se pehle pehle Mina rawana ho jayein kyunke wo zara sust-raftar thin. Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne unhein ijazat de di, chunancha wo logon ki bheer se pehle hi nikal khari huin. Aur hum log subah tak wahin thehre rahe aur Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke hamrah wapas hue. Kaash! Main ne bhi Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) se ijazat li hoti jaisa ke Hazrat Sauda (Radi Allahu Anha) ne li thi to yeh mere liye zyada mehboob aur bohat bari khushi ki baat thi.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَفْلَحُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، عَنْ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، قَالَتْ : نَزَلْنَا الْمُزْدَلِفَةَ ، فَاسْتَأْذَنَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَوْدَةُ أَنْ تَدْفَعَ قَبْلَ حَطْمَةِ النَّاسِ ، وَكَانَتِ امْرَأَةً بَطِيئَةً فَأَذِنَ لَهَا فَدَفَعَتْ قَبْلَ حَطْمَةِ النَّاسِ ، وَأَقَمْنَا حَتَّى أَصْبَحْنَا نَحْنُ ، ثُمَّ دَفَعْنَا بِدَفْعِهِ فَلَأَنْ أَكُونَ اسْتَأْذَنْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَمَا اسْتَأْذَنَتْ سَوْدَةُ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ مَفْرُوحٍ بِهِ .
