Chapter: What has been said about (facing) the Qiblah (Kabah at Makkah) and wherever considered that there was no need to repeat the Salat (prayer) if someone offered prayers by mistake facing a direction other than that of the Qiblah

Sahih al-Bukhari 402
Narrated `Umar (bin Al-Khattab): My Lord agreed with me in three things: -1. I said, O Allah's Apostle, I wish we took the station of Abraham as our praying place (for some of our prayers). So came the Divine Inspiration: And take you (people) the station of Abraham as a place of prayer (for some of your prayers e.g. two rak`at of Tawaf of Ka`ba) . (2.125) -2. And as regards the (verse of) the veiling of the women, I said, 'O Allah's Apostle! I wish you ordered your wives to cover themselves from the men because good and bad ones talk to them.' So the verse of the veiling of the women was revealed. -3. Once the wives of the Prophet made a united front against the Prophet and I said to them, 'It may be if he (the Prophet) divorced you, (all) that his Lord (Allah) will give him instead of you wives better than you.' So this verse (the same as I had said) was revealed. (66.5). Narrated Anas: as above (395).
حضرت انس ؓ سے روایت ہے، انھوں نے کہا: حضرت عمر ؓ نے فرمایا: مجھے اپنے پروردگار سے تین باتوں میں موافقت کا شرف حاصل ہوا ہے: ایک مرتبہ میں نے کہا: اللہ کے رسول! کاش مقام ابراہیم ہماری جائے نماز ہوتا، تو یہ آیت نازل ہوئی: ’’مقام ابراہیم کو جائے نماز بنا لو۔‘‘ آیت حجاب بھی اسی طرح نازل ہوئی کہ میں نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! کاش آپ اپنی بیویوں کو پردے کا حکم دے دیں کیونکہ ہر نیک و بد ان سے گفتگو کرتا ہے، تو آیت حجاب نازل ہوئی۔ (ایک دفعہ ایسا ہوا کہ) نبی ﷺ کی ازواج مطہرات نے باہمی رشک و رقابت کی وجہ سے آپ کے خلاف اتفاق کر لیا تو میں نے ان سے کہا: ’’بعید نہیں اگر رسول اللہ ﷺ تمہیں طلاق دے دیں تو ان کا پروردگار انہیں تمہارے بدلے میں تم سے بہتر بیویاں عطا فر دے۔‘‘ پھر یہی آیت (سورہ تحریم: 5) نازل ہوئی۔ (راوی حدیث) ابن ابی مریم نے کہا: ہمیں یحییٰ بن ایوب نے خبر دی، ان سے حمید طویل نے بیان کیا کہ میں نے حضرت انس ؓ سے یہ حدیث سنی ہے۔
Hazrat Anas (Raziallahu Anhu) se riwayat hai, unhon ne kaha: Hazrat Umar (Raziallahu Anhu) ne farmaya: Mujhe apne Parwardigar se teen baton mein muwafiqat ka sharaf hasil hua hai: Ek martaba maine kaha: Allah ke Rasool (Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam)! Kash maqam Ibrahim hamari jaye namaz hota, to yeh Ayat nazil hui: "Maqam Ibrahim ko jaye namaz bana lo." Ayat-e-Hijab bhi isi tarah nazil hui ke maine arz kiya: Allah ke Rasool (Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam)! Kash aap apni biwiyon ko parde ka hukm de dein kyunki har naik-o-bad unse guftugu karta hai, to Ayat-e-Hijab nazil hui. (Ek dafa aisa hua ke) Nabi (Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ki azwaj-e-mutahharat ne baahami rashk-o-raqabat ki wajah se aap ke khilaf ittifaq kar liya to maine unse kaha: "Baeed nahin agar Rasool Allah (Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam) tumhein talaq de dein to unka Parwardigar unhein tumhare badle mein tumse behtar biwiyan ata farma de." Phir yehi Ayat (Surah Tehreem: 5) nazil hui. (Rawi Hadees) Ibn Abi Maryam ne kaha: Humein Yahya bin Ayub ne khabar di, unse Humaid Taweel ne bayan kiya ke maine Hazrat Anas (Raziallahu Anhu) se yeh Hadees suni hai.
حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَوْنٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ عُمَرُ : وَافَقْتُ رَبِّي فِي ثَلَاثٍ ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، لَوِ اتَّخَذْنَا مِنْ مَقَامِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مُصَلًّى ؟ فَنَزَلَتْ وَاتَّخِذُوا مِنْ مَقَامِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مُصَلًّى سورة البقرة آية 125 ، وَآيَةُ الْحِجَابِ ، قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، لَوْ أَمَرْتَ نِسَاءَكَ أَنْ يَحْتَجِبْنَ فَإِنَّهُ يُكَلِّمُهُنَّ الْبَرُّ وَالْفَاجِرُ ، فَنَزَلَتْ آيَةُ الْحِجَابِ ، وَاجْتَمَعَ نِسَاءُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْغَيْرَةِ عَلَيْهِ ، فَقُلْتُ لَهُنَّ : عَسَى رَبُّهُ إِنْ طَلَّقَكُنَّ ، أَنْ يُبَدِّلَهُ أَزْوَاجًا خَيْرًا مِنْكُنَّ فَنَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ ، وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي حُمَيْدٌ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا بِهَذَا .
