The Statement of Allah the Exalted: "It may be that your Lord will raise you to Maqām Mahmūd (a station of praise and glory, i.e., the honour of intercession on the Day of Resurrection) ." (V.17:79)

Sahih al-Bukhari 4718
Ibn Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that on the Day of Resurrection, people will fall on their knees, and every nation will follow their prophet and they will say, ‘O so-and-so’, intercede (for us with Allah), till (the right of) intercession is given to the Prophet Muhammad ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) and that will be the day when Allah will raise him into a station of praise and glory ( َالْمَقَام َالْمَحْمُود).
حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر ؓ سے روایت ہے، وہ فرماتے ہیں: قیامت کے دن لوگ گروہوں کی شکل میں بٹ جائیں گے اور ہر گروہ اپنے نبی کے پیچھے لگ جائے گا اور سب کہیں گے: اے فلاں! آپ ہماری سفارش کریں یہاں تک کہ یہ معاملہ نبی ﷺ تک پہنچے گا، لہذا یہی وہ دن ہے جب اللہ تعالٰی آپ کو مقام محمود پر فائز کرے گا۔
Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (Radi Allahu Anhu) se riwayat hai, woh farmate hain: Qayamat ke din log girohon ki shakal mein bat jayen ge aur har giroh apne Nabi ke peeche lag jaye ga aur sab kahen ge: Ae falan! Aap hamari sifarish karen yahan tak ke yeh maamla Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) tak pohanche ga, lehaza yahi woh din hai jab Allah Tala aap ko Maqam-e-Mahmood par faiz kare ga.
حَدَّثَنِي إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ ، عَنْ آدَمَ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، يَقُولُ : إِنَّ النَّاسَ يَصِيرُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ جُثًا كُلُّ أُمَّةٍ تَتْبَعُ نَبِيَّهَا ، يَقُولُونَ : يَا فُلَانُ ، اشْفَعْ يَا فُلَانُ ، اشْفَعْ حَتَّى تَنْتَهِيَ الشَّفَاعَةُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَذَلِكَ يَوْمَ يَبْعَثُهُ اللَّهُ الْمَقَامَ الْمَحْمُودَ .
