Sahih al-Bukhari 4943
Narrated Alqama: I went to Sham with a group of the companions of `Abdullah (bin Mas`ud). Abu Ad-Darda' heard of our arrival so he came to us and said, Is there anybody among you who can recite (Qur'an) We replied in the affirmative. Then he asked, Who is the best reciter? They pointed at me. Then he told me to recite, so I recited the verse:-- 'By the night as it envelops 'By the day as it appears in brightness; By (Him Who created) male and the female.' (92.1-3) Abu Ad-Darda' then said to me, Did you hear it (like this) from the mouth of your friend (`Abdullah bin Mas`ud)? I said, Yes. He said, I too, heard it (like this) from the mouth of the Prophet, but these people do not consider this recitation as the correct one.
حضرت علقمہ بن قیس سے روایت ہے، انہوں نے کہا: میں حضرت عبداللہ بن مسعود ؓ کے چند تلامذہ کے ہمراہ شام کے علاقے میں گیا۔ حضرت ابوالدرداء ؓ نے جب ہماری آمد کا سنا تو ہماری ملاقات کے لیے تشریف لائے اور فرمایا: کیا تم میں سے کوئی قرآن مجید کے قاری بھی ہیں؟ ہم نے عرض کی: جی ہاں۔ پھر فرمایا: تم میں سب سے اچھا قاری کون ہے؟ ساتھیوں نے میری طرف اشارہ کیا تو انہوں نے فرمایا: پڑھو۔ میں نے تلاوت شروع کی: ﴿وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰ ﴿١﴾ وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّىٰ ﴿٢﴾ وَمَا خَلَقَ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ ﴿٣﴾ حضرت ابوالدرداء ؓ نے پوچھا: کیا تم نے خود اپنے استاد محترم کی زبانی اسی طرح سنا ہے؟ میں نے عرض کی: جی ہاں۔ انہوں نے فرمایا کہ میں نے بھی نبی ﷺ کی زبانی یہ آیت اسی طرح سنی ہے لیکن یہ شام والے حضرات اس کا انکار کرتے ہیں۔
Hazrat Alqamah bin Qais se riwayat hai, unhon ne kaha: Main Hazrat Abdullah bin Mas'ood (Radiyallahu Anhu) ke chand talamiza ke hamrah Shaam ke ilaqe mein gaya. Hazrat Abu Darda (Radiyallahu Anhu) ne jab hamari aamad ka suna to hamari mulaqat ke liye tashreef laye aur farmaya: Kya tum mein se koi Quran Majeed ke qaari bhi hain? Hum ne arz ki: Ji haan. Phir farmaya: Tum mein sab se achha qaari kaun hai? Sathiyon ne meri taraf ishara kiya to unhon ne farmaya: Padho. Main ne tilawat shuru ki: (Wal-laili iza yaghsha (1) Wan-nahari iza tajalla (2) Wa ma khalaqa-zakara wal-unsa (3)) Hazrat Abu Darda (Radiyallahu Anhu) ne poocha: Kya tum ne khud apne ustad-e-mohtaram ki zabani isi tarah suna hai? Main ne arz ki: Ji haan. Unhon ne farmaya ke main ne bhi Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ki zabani yeh aayat isi tarah suni hai lekin yeh Shaam wale hazraat is ka inkaar karte hain.
حَدَّثَنَا قَبِيصَةُ بْنُ عُقْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ ، قَالَ : دَخَلْتُ فِي نَفَرٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الشَّأْمَ ، فَسَمِعَ بِنَا أَبُو الدَّرْدَاءِ ، فَأَتَانَا ، فَقَالَ : أَفِيكُمْ مَنْ يَقْرَأُ ؟ فَقُلْنَا : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : فَأَيُّكُمْ أَقْرَأُ ؟ فَأَشَارُوا إِلَيَّ ، فَقَالَ : اقْرَأْ ، فَقَرَأْتُ وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَى { 1 } وَالنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّى { 2 } سورة الليل آية 1-2 وَالذَّكَرِ وَالْأُنْثَى ، قَالَ : أَنْتَ سَمِعْتَهَا مِنْ فِي صَاحِبِكَ ؟ قُلْتُ : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : وَأَنَا سَمِعْتُهَا مِنْ فِي النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهَؤُلَاءِ يَأْبَوْنَ عَلَيْنَا .
